No need for anyone to get personal and insult people from other cities just because they have different views and tastes. Architecture is very subjective, that's one of the great things about it. I think Vancouver has a great skyline and style, but the fact that so many buildings have similar massing and materials detracts from it a bit. Are there still guidelines with regards to the colour of glass?
Then you are in luck, they honestly have just started recladding the top portion of One Wall Centre this week!

Really?! I didn't even know that was being talked about, let alone being acted on!

Really, why? I assume it's going to match the lower glass then?

Yeah, that's pretty weird. It doesn't even fit in with the photoset. If they wanted one with historic buildings they could have easily put in an actual one of TO

Yep it is supposed to match, well get damn close at least (its hard to match 10 year old glass).

Apparently its being done because the upper level glass was failing. Seems a little weird to me, but I don't really care why it's happening im just pleased it's going ahead.

Yeah that's great news. Why did they go with the two tone look in the first place?

Dispute with the city.

There was an argument over what was shown to the city and what actually went up so the city made them change the tone half way up.

Gotta love it when the city starts meddling! Glad it will be the same the whole way up, Vancouver needs more dark glazing.

Great shot, shows the real length of the skyline. Will be great to see that same vantage today now that Pearl has topped out.
