Looks as though we're going to be getting food trucks Uptown. The most important thing to note is that they are only allowed to be on private property that is leased to them as allowing them on the street would require a bylaw to be changed., which wouldn't occur before this summer.

Canadian franchise Beavertails will be set up at the foot of King Street this summer.

I suppose these would be a temporary infill for vacant lots in the Uptown. The first one that comes to mind is the former Korner Grocery lot on Charlotte & Princess.

Edit - Man, beaten by a minute.

East Point

I just happened to stop in at Starbucks today by East Point and noticed the bright neon orange construction fencing around the perimeter of the vacant flat lot next to Starbucks/Wok Box with a an Avondale Construction sign erected. Anyone know of anything? It would be fun to see a Bed Bath & Beyond!

As mentioned, it is Princess Auto.

Don't be discouraged about Bed, Bath & Beyond though, it will be opening in McAllister Place in late Spring.

These home & bath stores really need to start diversifying their names a bit...

Wasn't there a rumour about Bath & Body Works also coming, though?

The last couple pages have quite a few retail related posts (English Butler, Franks Furs, Bath and Body Works, BBB, Princess Auto, H&M) that should all be moveds to the til thread, to remove clutter here...

I meant to ask about that... I had a meeting in Saint John West yesterday and I have to say that Simms Corner baffles me every time I have to drive through it. Who exactly has the ROW there?

The only intersection I find more ridiculous in New Brunswick is this monstrosity in Fredericton, from Google:

Everyone

The easiest thing to do is just to approach from Reversing Falls bridge and drive west onto Main Street (West). Lancaster Avenue towards the bridge isn't that bad, either. I typically avoid driving north from Lancaster Mall to the bridge or west from Lancaster Avenue.

After having used that intersection daily for a solid year (Beaverbrook/Waterloo/Forest Hill), I can agree that it's a total freak. When I first navigated it, my mouth was open the whole time, and I actually compared it to Simms. After a few rounds though, I realized it's much safer than Simms, and it actually works. It manages to slow traffic down, and limits options on where certain lanes will take you. Simms feels like Russian roulette.

Yeah, it's the Main Street West (West) and Bridge Road (North) approaches that have right of way (the 'road' per se can be seen curving uninterrupted between these two streets). Greg rounded up where not to approach from quite well: Fairville Boulevard (South) and Lancaster (East) to Main West both have stop signs [good luck!], while both directions of the diagonal bit between Bridge and Lancaster are governed by yields.

Got it yet?

Peel Plaza Parking Garage

Here is an updated picture of the Parking Garage.
It doesn't look too bad.
