New Westminster
Work on New Westminster's Trapp and Holbrook Condos is wellll underway!

Quite the impressive development, right downtown on Columbia Street, close to the UC civic centre office tower & convention centre and Plaza 88, only a couple minutes walk to both Columbia and New Westminster Skytrain Stations.

I remember admiring that old building on Columbia. Shame they're only keeping its facade, the interior had got good bones. But at least the facade being kept. New West has got to be one of Canada's nicest looking 'suburb', although I have a hard time calling it that.

It is definitely (in my opinion) Canada's most urban suburb for sure! As it is the oldest incorporated city in mainland BC (as far as I know?) I loved living there. A suburb with a cool gay bar with live music and smoking allowed on the patio! Plus tons of other cool bars and lounges all down Columbia. It's an absolutely great place to live, plus it is extremely well connected to rapid transit.

Recladding work going on at the top 1/3 of One Wall Centre, changing the lighter coloured glass to the darker glass of the bottom 2/3 of the tower! It's gonna look awesome!

Replacing all windows on one floor is expected to take one week, at least once the workmen catch their new routine. The work started officially end of last week, but nothing is visible yet.

The fact that it was extremely noticeably different than the bottom 2/3 of the tower? The city forced the developer to do it during construction, but now they're fixing the ridiculousness that the city forced upon them.

What an odd premise. Why would the city force such a thing on a developer. They should get restitution from the city for this fix-up.
