I know this building is unlikely to win any design awards, but it's nice to see some increased density at one of Winnipeg's most important hubs. A few more buildings like this one around there would give Confusion Corner a more urban character rather than feeling like something from Regent Avenue or Portage West.

since this is right beside the transit station, a good locatin for yet another Subway / Taco del Mar "Already leased are the main retail floor—to a national restaurant chain—and one office floor, which a business center operator will occupy. This leaves three floors and 18,120 total square feet available which are ideal for professional or medical office use"

Based on the size of the remaining space, the main floor would be aproximately 6,000 sq ft. This could provide a hint as to the style of restaurant.

Not being an expert on the subject I could be wrong but I seem to recall suggestions that Boston Pizza may have been interested in the Papa George's space. Perhaps they are interested in this one?

Also, as Taco del Mar seems to be building joint locations with Subway a renovation of the existing location at River and Osborne might make more sense there.

also, there is a variance up at 583 Stradbrook. more condos, I think. lot's happening on Stradbrook with the 548 Stradbrook project and Village Junction up near Scott.

Not sure if this is a hint but trueviking posted on his Twitter about needing to find a way to make up for the extra $300,000 in extra PST costs on a hotel project following the budget announcement today. Only two hotel projects thought to be in the design stage currently -- 416 Main and the Convention Center/Carlton Inn.

Agreed, very good summary of the benefits. It definitely will be nice to see these various new hotels open in the coming years for just this reason.

The Fairmont is finishing up a fairly extensive renovation and the Delta is just embarking on a $10+ million dollar full renovation of all it's facilities and rooms.

In agreement reg: this developement. Coming of Corydon, Pembina or Osborne, It adds some density and a look that will bring some, oomph to this intersection, be it 1 storey less, I like the idea of underground parking as well.
Not sure what's happening with money mart, earlier I heard it would still be thier? True?

i can't wait to see how they are going to pull this off. the bonivital parking lot is unreal busy so adding a library will take away parking spaces and increase how busy it is. maybe they are taking over the public works yard next door? either way, combined facilitites make sense to me and I like the idea too.

Just drove by the Confusion Corner site, they have begun tearing down the garage, shouldn't be long before its totally gone. The Money Mart is still up and operating, is it also going to be torn down at some point for this development, or will it remain there?

The developer of this project was unable to acquire the Money Mart property.
