^ wow Those last few shots of Vancouver are really impressive!

While the talk is on how Calgary punches way above for a fairly small city, let's not forget that Vancouver is barely a medium sized city but that skyline is arguably the most impressive in the country...Anyways, great shots.

Both western cities are doing it up pretty good.

Yup. Most of the new buildings in the city are actually quite nice, there was just a lot of crap built in the 50's - 80'.

Yeah Vancouver definitely punches above it's weight, looks like a city of 5 million, easy.

lol! Yeah there are a few for sure. The lighting doesn't help though, and same for the time of year. I find Calgary's least flattering time is around March or early April when the snow is gone and it's brown.

Haha, What the hell is Vetro anyway? Though, I wonder if the heating bills are smaller for buildings with less windows. We dont have Vancouver's climate and buildings like these are more efficient. There is no excuse for all of that clutter. Wasn't it versace who said dress it up but then take one item off? I heard the floor plans are nice.

Even here in Vancouver, winter heating bills can be outrageous in small condos with these tons and tons of single pane glass windows. The natural sunlight is nice, but it's bloody expensive.

EAP is the nicest twins in the country hands down. the podium is also ranked right up there at the top for canada and NA. great buildings all around IMO.

EAP's massing is excellent. BTW.. it looks to me that the east tower it appears to be the tallest tower from its position westward in the city. is that factual? please let me know.

I don't think any floor-ceiling glass condos in Vancouver are even close to being old enough to still use single-pane windows. Even most of the old rental buildings in the Westend have been upgraded to double-pane.

I used to live in a floor-ceiling glass condo in Yaletown that was a corner unit and my hydro bill was never more than $35 a month in winter.

You are correct, sir! Centennial Place's spire is a bit taller, but the tower is also slightly east of EAP II. As far as roof height goes, EAP II will be tied with Canterra Tower (now Devon Tower) and Transcanada Tower as 6th tallest in the city. So basically when EAP II is done, Calgary will have 8 buildings over 175 meters ;D

I believe EAP sits on land which is higher (above sea level) than SEC/The Bow. I could be wrong on this but from many angles EAP does stand out to be taller than both SEC and The Bow however is shorter in height (structurally). Calgary does maintain a fairly downward slope through the valley going West to East so I believe this is the case.

Commence the capping of EAP II! A strong legacy will be left with these towers, so glad this proposal went ahead and completed instead of the previous ugly dark blue glass wastes of space.

Also, SINCERELY jealous of anyone living in the Lower Mainland, incredibly beautiful. Those photos leave me speechless... Just gorgeous!

Single pane windows haven't been used in a really long time, I would be surprised if there are any buildings left with single pane glass, aside from an old early 20th century warehouse or something.
