There has been a huge swath of land cleared on the road leading to Audubon Landscape. Basically between Day & Ross and Audobon? It is clearly visible from either side of highway #2, but is on the east bound side. Does anyone have any idea what this could be?

I also noticed on the exact opposite side of the highway #2 west bound, there was tree clearing going on as well. Not to the extent of the opposite side, but at least starting.

Not sure if this is the right thread or not so feel free to send elsewhere if not.

Well there's been a rumor going around the forum that Costco might actually move to Day & Ross' current site in order to expand their Trinity drive store and maybe also sell gas. Maybe there is truth to the rumor.

Yeah, that's what I initially thought, but this development is further past Day & Ross. I guess Costco could potentially take up this space, but it looks far bigger than the space that would be required if they did in fact take the D&R area as well.

The land is basically in between where D&R is and Audubon.

It may be a part of the "Vision Lands" project. It seems to connect to a road that's under construction heading in the direction of Wheeler. They've been clearing that strip out for a couple of weeks now.

Perhaps it's a new connector for all the truck traffic going to Audubon Organics. It could be leading to Crowley Farm Road.

Another tenant for this little strip mall at the corner of Mountain and Trinity:

Cara Shoes are advertising for employees on Kijiji. They apparently will be affiliated in some way with Service Shoe Shop downtown.

This now gives this strip four tenants:
- All Things Olive
- Goji Frozen Yogurt
- Cara Shoes
- Trinity Dental Clinic

Yes, St. Louis Bar & Grill will most definitely have a patio. They installed some outdoor lighting the other day.

Well, I guess the first review will be my own.....

My son was peckish last night so we went over to St. Louis Bar & Grill a little after 8PM to try it out.

It was still busy, but the dinner crowd had all left so we did not have to wait to be seated. The restaurant is bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside, but is still on the smallish side. It would probably seat 80-100 guests.

The decor isn't bad - pretty much what you would expect for a slightly upscale sports bar. There were wall mounted plasma TV's showing live sports, muted lighting and a combination of different table sizes, booths and a bar. The atmosphere wasn't bad.

The servers were prompt and attentive, if a little inexperienced - but I will give them that as they have only been open two days. The food order was handled well and we did not have to wait long to have it prepared. My son had a clubhouse sandwich and I had the pulled pork tacos. The food was reasonably tasty but not spectacular. We did not have to wait for the bill. Service was actually quite efficient.

Overall, I would give it a rating of B+. If you are looking for a sports bar atmosphere or pub food, then St. Louis fits the bill pretty well. I wish them well.......

I went Saturday night around 10:30 and the place was empty. There may have been 3-4 tables of customers, including myself and my buddy.

First impression, yes, it's nice because everything is brand new, but I was confused by the atmosphere. It's not a bar, not a restaurant, not a pub, but rather a mix of everything. It's almost as if KFC decided to attempt to create a sports bar.

Server was really inexperienced and the outfit wasn't exactly appropriate. I should have told her that she shouldn't wear that in public again.

I ordered 2 glasses 20oz Heineken draft for buddy and I.

I ordered the Original 1lb Honey BBQ wings, which cost $12.99. Pic below is what you get for that price. 8 wings, yes 8 (eight) wings with some large cut fries. The wings were dry, fries were ok.

No utensils were provided and I was given 1 napkin, yes 1 (one) napkin. I needed to ask for more.

Time to leave. Total bill for 2 Heineken drafts, 1 order of wings = $32.91 (Not including tip).

After reviewing their online menu, I highly doubt that I'll be back.

Well First thanks for the review, now a few questions:

When you say she wasn't appropriate? what exactly does that mean, too revealing? short? tight?

And well 2 draft are probebly around 7,50$ each-ich?

So basicly if somebody would take 1lb of wings and pepsi its probebly around the 20$ range??

Not too bad considering you can't get nothing under 20 these days.

But I wanted to try it so if you can answer the abovs

Thanks

Interesting to see that even after building Northrup Frye School (K-8, Ryan St), and, even with the opening this year of the new francophone Ecole le Sommet (K-8, also on Ryan St), that Evergreen Park School will still be overcrowded, and that the anglophone east school board has secured a couple of portable classrooms for the upcoming school year. The school board is also petitioning the province to fund a second permanent expansion at the school!!

Just another indication of how the population in the northwest end of the city is exploding.

It should be noted that Arnold H MacLeod School in the Harrisville area is also overcrowded and new portables are being brought in......

Why don't they bus kids to places like Edith Cavelle and Bessborough that aren't as crowded (I assume, since they're in older neighborhoods)?

Haha they could have at least cleaned the brick that didn't get covered by siding.

Noticed yesterday the trailer and equipment in a fenced in area at Moncton Walmart. They were pouring concrete. Looked like footing and slab for expansion.

Thumbs up Mary Browns

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this but the very successful Mary Browns franchise is also going to be opening a location in Moncton at the end of July. No location has been announced yet but word is that it will be in the North End of Moncton possibly in the same strip as Papa John's and Pita Pit.
