Yes and no. The fountain will be called the whiskey fountain because of all the old breweries on the site, but will in fact not spew whiskey. Only water will be coming out of it..

Toronto Follows New York closely in Skyscraper Construction, with 15 buildings under construction taller than 45 storeys tall.

Toronto will boast 45 high-rise buildings by 2015, including the 277-metre Trump International Hotel and Tower.

Toronto will boast a hell of a lot more than 45 hi-rise buildings by 2015, but I guess this article considers a hi-rise building to be at least 45 storeys tall? hah

Beautiful project. This for me is way more exciting than a bunch of towers a la Cityplace.

The City tells the developer of 83 Storey Holt Renfrew Tower to go taller go wilder..

Well I'm not sure I'm seeing that. The closet thing to that I'm seeing in the pdf would be this:

Expression and Articulation
 Members felt that proposal was elegant and tasteful, but architecturally understated
 At 80-storeys, they felt it was an opportunity to create a signature skyline building
- ensure this opportunity is not missed
- introduce more "adventure" into the tower expression

But whether they're asking for taller or just a more distinguished design is up for interpretation.

Yes my enthusiastic interpretation.

I've never seen a City report so favourable to "mega-tall" development outside the financial core.

There must be some evolution of the mindset at the city planning department.
