Part of my family, generations back, is actually from Bari and I was able to visit the city when I was studying in Florence.

All I remember is that it was vastly different than the northern Italian cities and I don't remember shopping options. I know I really had to get by on the little Italian I knew as it was not very touristy.....or safe

I feel for Bari's loss, every time I see a failing suburban mall a tear comes to my eye, much like how a Native American cries when they see trash.

Caesar must be rolling over in his grave given the shopping mall crisis in Bari.

Maybe the malls don't have enough locks and that one more place for people to break into and steal stuff.

Here is the hopping scene in the food court at the SuperMario Mall in suburban Bari, in better days...

Is this 2003? Surely, this thread is some fantastic treasure from the golden age of SSP.

Traffic streams out of Bari, Italy as residents frantically flee the city's many imploding shopping malls:

I originally misread the word "naples." My first reaction was, "Don't most chicks have a case of those?" Or are my excessively dense mitochondria preventing me from catching an intentional and obvious pun?

Bari malls suffer when they don't change with the times. Without specialty guido gear and hipster paraphernalia on offer, they just can't appeal to the modern consumer.

what's a "street hooker" doing emerging from a home, even if vacant?
