Nice pic, thanks. Too bad the tour Aima/altoria will hide the historic Bell building. Oh well.

Another major office tower has been approved for Vancouver. Construction to begin this summer on The Exchange (Credit Suisse Tower), 115 meters tall (originally supposed to be 135 but some NIMBY —-tards in a res building next door started complaining), looks pretty decent though! Maybe someone from Van could post a pic?

Very impressive. And this angle will continue to impress, with the upcoming TOM (122m) and Point Zero (125m) and of course Altoria (130m). The new QDS towers will also be visible, and so will Avenue and canadiens. Yo Tone, you gotta go back and take more pictures from this point of view as construction kicks into gear!

And considering the Bell HQ was built in 1929, I think we can say that it had a good run as a visible member of the skyline. Had the city been more economically dynamic, it would have surely been obscured decades ago by bigger buildings, if not altogether demolished.

That's one of my favourite angles. Someone from MTL (Martin?) often posts photos from that angle but closer so the first thing you see in the foreground is that old building with the metal(?) roof.

That pic was taken from the eastern tip of St.Helen island near the Jacques-Cartier bridge. The Bell building should still be visible from some angles from the Island or the bridge. I hope so, cause it adds to the Montréal mix of old and new.

^ TOM and altitude especially are/will be filling a very big hole from this angle. And Altoria will add some much needed depth to the skyline. All in all the relative loss of the Bell hq is a small price to pay.

Now what we need is a nice 200m slender tower at 900 de Maisonneuve. Still a pipe dream but maybe not as far fetched as it once seemed.

Actually, I'm gonna place my bets on the Philips square tower, which is rumoured to be revived by a University. If this is true and it does go up soon, we will see a 140m tower go up between Marriott/V and Place Ville Marie.

New Westminster's "Civic Centre" also known as Merchant Square.

Office tower + theatre + convention space. 11 stories, 40 meters right in the heart of downtown, across from the new skytrain mall at Plaza 88.
