Am I the only one who thinks that Granville bridge building is ugly? I mean I'm glad it's different from the rest of the condos there, but it kind of reminds me of a beehive.

I respect that the building is different (for Vancouver, at least), and it will be a good conversation piece for years to come. But it is not a beautiful or elegant building. It has a fat profile and is top heavy.
I would like to see an architect design a building for Vancouver that is both bold and beautiful at the same time.
Ruin it by sticking a Blenz or Wave Coffee in the bottom..
You mean successful local coffee companies? In my books those two are certainly preferable to another Starbucks or Tims. With that said, I'll add that the scene isn't complete until there is a grass median between the sidewalk and curb that has sunken by at least a few centimetres and is mostly mud and dog excrement with only a few pathetic blades of grass and moss to hint at what was promised in the building renders.
they all sort of —. why does every vancouver business shoot to be a chain business? like immediately start out with goofy corporate branding, sterile environment, indistinguishable product, etc? so uncool and uncharming.

The first of three cranes is now up on the Brockton Oval. Interesting that the City would choose that spot for those much needed low cost housing units and 80 SRO's.
Good for them, this should keep everyone quiet for a while.
I walked by there yesterday, the Development Notice board was there with some renderings. Should've taken a few shots of the renderings and construction!
