Good Day!
Here is a couple of the pictures. One very early and one today.
I have been taking pictures almost ever day, or at least if there is a change.
Picture quality is generally poor, just a cell camera.

Hmmm... would it be a simple process to add floors onto this in the future some day?

The building looks certainly looks good for what it is, but every time I see it in context with the rest of downtown, I keep thinking there should be a full-blown 20-some story building there instead of the 9 floors this tops out to.

The columns on this seem pretty small, about 8-12 across on the top floors, I don't think so (not an engineer though )

Unfortunately I think this site is under one of the viewplanes.

The cladding looks quite nice.

Yeah the building is under the view plane.

From the looks of it, and additionally on their facebook site, they just have to pour the roof and the building is offically topped off. I suspect major progress after the roof is curred.

I checked the facebook website (as you indicated) and there are quite a few new interior pictures. Quite a bit of work has been done on the inside for the duct work and water piping. Here is the link - http://www.facebook.com/pages/RBC-Waters...8949?id=108681372508949&sk=photos_stream

They are certainly moving quickly to get this project finished

I have to say though it makes me sad every time I see that awful white band, why has council or the heritage committee not done anything about it? Was the uproar when it happened not loud enough? I suppose this is the wrong thread to discuss it, but it just reminded me of it again.

I look forward to seeing the RBC Waterside building completed, and getting back to Halifax this summer for a month and see it in person.

I think council has asked staff to provide input on what legal and other avenues are available to address this

I suspect that there are things going on in the background with the Morris Tea Signage - but after reading the DA; it wasn't exactly iron clad either way!? It's quite possible that I was missing something or that certain things in the Heritage Act aren't included for whatever reason?

If that's not thumbing your nose to the people of Halifax, I don't know what is.

Time to revisit heritage protection regulations, it seems. Make some rules that really work, and bypass groups like HT, which seem to be ineffective at accomplishing anything other than clogging up the system with minutia.
