Having seen it very up close and personal, I think it's pretty gross looking. It looks cheap and the high quality of the building it's set in only makes it look cheaper. As I said, I hope it does really well and adds to the area, I think just from an appearance point of view it looks pretty tacky.

That being said, I hope the inside looks better, and I'm sure it will.

A downtown Atlanta hotel has secured funding to revive its iconic revolving restaurant.

Hyatt Hotels & Resorts has approved a budget to reopen the Polaris — the blue-domed restaurant atop the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, the city's third-largest hotel. Almost a decade after service stopped, the Polaris would reopen under a new name, possibly later this year.

Atlanta-based The Johnson Studio currently is designing the concept.

As a long-time Atlanta resident, this makes me happy. I remember when you could see the Polaris from just about any vantage point. I hope it is a success.

^Me too, Eric. Even though I'm not a native, we lived here briefly when I was in 6th & 7th grades. I have very fond memories of our Dad taking us up there for lunch once after a ride on the Pink Pig at Rich's one Holiday.

Alternatively, guests may enjoy their favorite selections over a quiet and relaxing lunch with friends and colleagues at the bar or generous booths. In the evening, the bar menu will include specialty appetizers, pub fare, and main dishes reflective of the same regionally inspired, locally sourced entrees in the dining room. The North Highland Pub finally re-opened after being closed a few weeks for renovations -- I guess it was mainly kitchen stuff and the bathrooms.

In the same building: Folk Art breakfast and lunch joint from the Wisteria folks opened on Monday. We're hoping to try it out tomorrow.

One more Inman Park update, I guess the jerks that own the south side of Euclid around Washita tried to rip off the the Stir It Up folks for $40K, got sued and now the whole building is vacant. The same owners have from the old post office (next door to Elmyr) down to the houses by Austin. Hopefully this will be the kick the pants to get that giant empty lot developed. Please!!!

Negril Village at 30 North Ave -- is that the weird building near Piedmont that they started on 3 or 4 years ago?

La Hacienda at 900 Monroe -- this is the new building right by Sig Samuels near 8th St. Looks like it will have a rooftop bar too. Should have some great views of midtown

Prince of Persia dba The Castle in the castle on 15th St. Can't *wait* to see this one!! They're squeezing a hotel in there too, I think

This is the old fire station where Engine 11 and Spotted Dog were before. Hmmm, wonder who's involved?
