I loooooove that you called it Central Canada. Yes, Sask and Man are central Canada! Not firggin Ontario and Quebec. Clearly eastern!

The terms "Western, Central and Eastern Canada" aren't meant to be geographic boundaries. They're historic, political and cultural identifiers.

Geographically, the Mid-West is closer to the east coast than to the west coast, but it will forever be called the "Mid-West".

Geographically, the Middle East is far closer to the Prime Meridian than it is to the centre of the Eastern Hemisphere, but it will forever be called the "Middle East".

In that same vein, SK and MB will always be "Western Canada" and ON and QC will always be "Central Canada". The increasing economic and political influence of Western Canada isn't going to magically change those labels.

I think that Manitoba is refered to as central Canada as much, if not more than, Quebec. Quebec is labelled Eastern a good chunk of the time (so is Ontario, but not as much).

For what it's worth, I've never heard Manitoba referred to as Central Canada. The only people I've ever heard refer to Ontario or Quebec as "Eastern" are people from Western Canada, but then again, literally every thing in the country is east of them, so that's not saying much.

edit: Come to think of it, I don't really hear the term "Eastern Canada" used all that much. Typically it's "Western Canada", "Central Canada" and "Atlantic Canada". I guess "Eastern Canada" would include both Central Canada and Atlantic Canada, but Manitoba is most definitely Western Canada.

Out west, people use the terms Eastern Canada and Western Canada often. Eastern Canada is almost always exclusive to Ontario ("out East") but can be used to refer to anything east of Manitoba. Quebec is usually just Quebec, the Maritimes are the Maritimes, and Newfoundland is Newfoundland.

Downtown's Norquest College also received funding for a large new expansion. It will eat up 1/2 a city block of surface parking in our warehouse district.

That Winnipeg proposal is awesome - especially if it's where I think it is. Congratulations!

This could be one of the more transformative projects for downtown Winnipeg.

This, combined with all the ongoing/soon to be started developments would definitely elevate Winnipeg's core to another level.

CMHR, CentrePoint, Glass House, D Condos, Convention Centre Expansion/Renovation + Hotel tower, Fortress possible twin tower project, Heritage Landing, etc, and now this? The architecture and planning in this development alone would be transformative for the whole entertainment district, not to mention all the rest of these projects.
