Sorry I guess I should've said "Can you see from non-airplane/Burj Khalifa heights?"

The area was already deforested. Before the RCMP headquarters went in there there were acres of meadow and farmland I believe it was.

I guess you could call it 'greenspace' but it's not as bad as people make it out to be.

Thanks for posting.

Why does it look like they've designed the office towers to look shorter than they actually are?

You'd be able to see the North Shore mountains towards the top of those towers. You can see it from the higher levels in Infinity/Park Place 2 and those towers are only 36 floors high.

Remember Surrey Central is already 300 feet above sea level at street level so at the top of a 400 foot tower you're 700 feet above sea level. Can see Vancouver from that height so should be able to see the North Shore mountains.

The view towards Baker is really nice though too. Surrey actually looks very green that direction. Next clear day towards Baker I'll take a picture from my floor and post it. I face South though so would need to track down someone facing North and at a high floor (30+) to take a good view shot.

They've actually done a pretty good job. People should also realize that between the Jim Pattison building and RCMP E-Division building there will be more medical buildings constructed in the coming years. The surface parking for JP will be put under ground and a few more buildings built there.

And as I said I think they did a good job with the RCMP building. They've built a new path that circles from 100th ave around and behind the RCMP building along the security fence line then rounds down to the new intersection at 96th Ave and Green Timbers. We've jogged it a few times now and it makes it easier to make a circle around Green Timbers while remaining "in the trees."

Is that an extension of 98b ave across King George with a new intersection? They really need a new intersection/pedestrian light (or even overpass) right at or near the station

The dumb thing is they didn't connect it to the trail on the south side of 96 ave and put a crosswalk there.

Yah that would be nice. I do think there still needs to be done some upgrading overall to the Green Timbers trail system to make it a bit more friendly aka would be nice to have some fly overs for Fraser Highway and 96th for biking and running just to make it more seemless. Crossing 148th is easy when you're on the major greenway, but crossing Fraser Highway can actually take quite some time during rush hour and if it is supposed to be a major bike route for people through Surrey eventually, it really either needs a crossing or imo an overhead/underground crossing.

Guess we'll see what happens when the drawings come out for the Fraser Highway expansion.

Also not sure if it has been mentioned, but both the pub and the liquor store at the Day's Inn on this property will be closed end of May as demolishion of the building is supposed to commence in June.

So this project is definately going forward and within the next 3 or 4 months.

Holy schnitzel! That whole development is going to make that empty lot that used to the King George and 100th a distant, dim memory...

The video looks like a SimCity game.

Lots of towers around the Coast Capital office, but too bad they all look to be around the same height. They will be yaletowning that part of Surrey's skyline...

Days Inn? That's on King George and 134th / University Drive, on Johnson Hill.

Do you mean Compass Point Inn?

Ummm - I see a driveway into the Coast Capital Building from the street that will have LRT on it - I don't think that will work.

Sorry yah Compass Point. Was the days inn forever ago and for so long I still call it that just like so many people still say GM Place instead of Rogers Arena.
