WOW! Now that would be wicked! With the theme park and roller coasters permanent, of course

That's the best MGM could come up with? Toronto doesn't need a casino but if we get one it better be the Oxford Proposal.

Pretty pathetic compared to Oxford's proposal.

gotta agree. this seems like something that would be proposed in Niagara falls, or some small struggling city of 300,000. While I don't agree with the concept of a casino, if one must come it should be the Oxford casino.

I'm very much convinced that a casino, if built, needs to go downtown but I came into this willing to be convinced of the merits of the CNE grounds. I have to agree with the other members that this isn't all that good.

Not only are the proposed buildings rather mediocre, but the mix of a casino and the CNE doesn't work for me. It makes the whole area feel like Niagara Falls .... the nasty part.

I get the impression MGM knew they weren't prepared, judging by all the "this isn't the proposal, it's a preliminary idea" statements by their PR people, along with the fact that they wouldn't allow the scale model to be photographed. It certainly pales in comparison to the Oxford Place plan...

I think there's some kind of unspoken rule that casinos must be garish and suburban. They seem to be hideous everywhere.

the oxford one looks amazing. There are very few Casinos that work on an urban level, the only existing one I can think of is Melbourne's. I think Oxford's proposal could pull it off as well, but I would rather it be built without it. I wouldn't be screaming 🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵 murder if the oxford casino was approved, I guess you could say.

You guys are just a big bunch of meanies!

just kidding. Yeah, well the architecture isn't all that great, but I absolutely die for theme parks and entertainment stuff. What's left over from Ontario Place just seems like a perfect spot for a new entertainment/tourism area! I hope they keep and reincorporate the Cinesphere!

That theme park is not permanent though. It's to show where the rides will go for the CNE.
The second picture posted above is what it will look like the rest of the time.

Not advocating for a casino or anything but the the Exhibition ground is really an ideal location for a casino.

Yikes! What in goodness is this?

It looks like the amusement park from the Lost Boys movie.

Its simply a means to them to hide the massive parking lot that would be there 11 months out of the year.

Lets not forget the Oxford proposal the Casino design was not 100% done either. The City will favour MGM because it gets more money and can isolate the Casino away and island all of the negatives such as cars, traffic, and the gaudy social elements away at Exhibition place a part of town people do not actively frequent.

The City owns that land, they will make a sizeable profit from this proposal vs Oxford.

Wow, Deloitte's making a big play for brand recognition Canada's two biggest cities with new officers towers bearing their logo going up in both Toronto and Montreal.

Looks great next to Gare Windsor.
