since the last election i have had a couple people say to me why haven't u run for city councle

but who would i run against eidie? i am quiet happy with what hes been doing infact hes doing a pritty good job even been down to watch councle on multiple occasion.... or do i do something stupid and run for the big seat then find advisers to support me in areas lacking especially a proof reader...

put some more funding into the speak up winnipeg initiative.

one thing i would bring back would be the portage and main parties turn it into a thing we invite the world to. and get partnerships so the city does not bare all that cost... cause i know their expensive...

push for increased densities around all the unicity downtowns that once were

push for p3 river bank stabilization or least get the community to get a 10 yr priority areas list into the budget for X yrs...

fire our cao and get someone real in that spot not a developer that has real teeth to work with councle.

do something about the property tax imbalance in this city...
light a pretty big fire under the province about the school property tax 🞵🞵🞵🞵...
sit down with the province see about getting some long term goals into their budgets planned for stuff such as bridges 20 yrs out ect ect ect ect

create a mental health unit for bylaw enforcement. as thats an area thats lacking for the people that are constantly being in the 🞵🞵🞵🞵 list. for hoarding ect... prolly recoup some costs their those peoples property taxs to a degree maybe get funding from manitoba heal to a degree also and or feds.

the mayor gets 120k a year or somthing i would prolly take a pay cut for the lack of knowledge the mayors play funds i would prolly use for staff to assist me with my short Cummings and toss into the street party budget. maybe even slash that depending

any further discussion on civic politics continue talking about it in the winnipeg politics thread here>> http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=197147

Does anybody by any chance have floorplans of Dcondo, heritage landing and glasshouse? and maybe even prices? Just trying to do a quick analysis here at work. I've emailed the agents and am waiting, waiting, waiting ...

Thanks Cheswick. I knew the floorplans were out there somewhere although they won't release them yet to me through their agent.

And yup Heritage Landing is apartments as far as I know. They haven't finalized their pricing yet.

I think something big is going with the completion of the the Disraeli AT bridge. Midwinter is closed, there are workers walking around wearing harnesses and two large paths have been cleared on the river ice from the Point Douglas boat ramp to the Disraeli.

I wonder if somebody is checking on the tar modules in the Red River by the Disraeli bridge to see if they have moved.

A few years ago Maple Leaf drilling was on the river in the spring doing river bed core samples for Manitoba Hydro as Hydro took responsibility for the problem left from the old coal gas plant where the gas company offices are now located when they bought Centra Gas.

Blasts from the past.

The top is Saddlery Lofts... must have been pitched, what, maybe around 2005 or so?

The bottom is, I believe, a proposal for Manitoba Hydro. I think it was backed by First Nations interests. Must be also from around that timeframe, circa 2004.

I thought they were interesting... I hadn't seen those in quite a while.

The Saddlery Lofts in particular caused quite a stir around here at the time it was pitched given that it was among the very first of the post-2000 generation of condo projects in the Exchange District. It never got off the ground (maybe thankfully, given the questionable design), but it was notable because it did speak to the interest that developers had in the area. Remember, there was virtually no new housing built in the Exchange District from about the mid 1980s to the mid 2000s.

Would be nice to have something finish off that block against Bannatyne. I think even the rgalston and steveosnyder crowd would agree the one storey building right at Main and Bannatyne could be rebuilt.

Noticed that myself, seems like work on the ped. bridge has been halted for the past couple of months, just wish they would have finished the roadwork on the north side of the new Disraeli before everything got shut down.
