Champlain Place Update:

- Former Jacob location under renovations to become Addition-elle
- Former Coats Co location under renovations to become Peoples
- Cuts 2000 under renovations and will re-open soon

- I have no idea what will move into old Addition-elle location.
- The move by Peoples was unexpected. I wonder if Fossil will be taking over this space? Fossil has stated in the past that they had secured a corner location not far from Sephora. This would appear to fit the bill and the location is also close to Coach and Starbucks.
- Still no idea where l'Occitaine is moving to. The l'Occitaine location at the Halifax Shopping Centre is really small. I would imagine the Champlain Place location would be similar.

Regarding L'Occitane; Because of the size and location, I have a hunch it's going into the Fruits & Passion spot, just speculation from my part though. Then again Fossil might be going there (F&P), because I believe L'Occitane is coming this spring or summer right? Time will tell.

If F&P is really toast, then this would make sense. It's about the right size....

Walmart Supercenter

I'm not sure if Wal-mart on Trinity Drive has been confirmed a supercenter or not, but i was in there today and noticed on a side shelf near the cookies, a sign that read walmart supercenter on it. Might be something to this

The Wal-Mart on Plaza Blvd will be converted to a supercentre. This has been announced. This location presumably was chosen so that it can compete head to head with Target. The Wal-Mart building will be expanded towards Wheeler Blvd, but the increase in square footage will be fairly small.

Saw that today...I assume its so large as to be seem from mapleton, wheeler and trinity. I wonder if it will be a standard "list of stores" or perhaps have an LED element or something else?

Once the unique spiral walkway next to that sign and overall landscaping is done I feel like this will be a much nicer retail node than we are used to.

There'll have to be some more store announcements soon for that to happen...

They have job adverts online at kijiji so I doubt it. There have also intermittently been vehicles belonging to construction workers parked in front of the building.

The coming soon sign might just be buried in a snowbank.

The temporary fabric sign on the building might just have blown off. It was just sort of hanging there for about a week......

One way or another that will come in time, I'm talking more specifically about landscaping and layout.

Yes of course... I was just commenting on the snail's pace with which this project has moved ever since its inception.

I drove by the Tag store on the way home from work today.

There were about a dozen cars out front, the lights were on inside and some interior signage has been installed. There was very definitely active construction work being carried out inside the store.

There is no doubt in my mind that this store is a definite go for a spring opening....

So let me get this straight, the government wants to build condos so Costco is going to move half a kilometer down the road and day & Ross is going to move....

1. Government doesn't make deals with priviate parties unless something goes out to tender.

2. Honestly, learn some grammar, I found your paragraph hard to read.

3. I doubt Costco is going to build a brand new store down the road, plus I assume they lease their building now anyway and probably have a lengthy term left on it.
