The lower concrete floors of the new central library in Halifax are basically complete. The next few weeks will be interesting since they'll be assembling a large steel structure and mounting it on top of the existing concrete base.
To the right of the library site you can see more digging for a condo project.
Indeed, that library is going to be fun to follow (and is, by the way, going to be much nicer than our green shoe box next to our abandoned student residences).
In the top right, you can see the first phase of District Griffin (19fl, 20fl), speraheading the re-habilitation of Griffintown (you can see how it lacks in urbanity).

I wonder why Metroplace already has glass on it but Sovereign doesn't? I'm pretty sure Sovereign is more far along structurally.

I remember going by there last year when it was just an empty lot. There was a huge line of people there; presumably they were waiting to put down deposits on units.
That picture is nice but Metrotown is a soulless part of town, analogous to, say, North York. It's oddly less than the sum of its parts. Maybe it will improve as more strip malls are replaced with condos. Maybe not.

Bridgepoint Health today. Possibly the nicest looking Hospital in the province now. Once the jail is gone and all of the land around is landscaped with trails linking the valley it will be one of the nicest park areas near the core. They'll be lighting up the old jail building with LED lights at night as well.
