Your point being? It's still half as important (when it comes to gambling/entertainment destinations) as Atlantic City, so why would we expect architectural marvels to be being built here when they are still building bullshit in Atlantic City.

That was posted last summer. Is there an update on it? Will it actually go through? It looks like a nice development.

Horrible massing and lines on the N.F. Proposal.

It would look nice in Halifax actually! Give a nice point to the city skyline. My wish for Halifax is that the new tallest they end up with for the next 20 - 30 years be a pinnacle-style tower, not a flat roof.

And no, obviously I do not mean Pinnacle Development Group. I mean a building with a pinnacle, so relax everyone.

Nope it's been cancelled. The town had to listen to it's residents and the project has been shot down.

As for Niagara Falls not needing to step up because it only has a small population. It may only have 100,000, but it receives roughly 12,000,000 visitors a year. The hotels should build better quality for the rights to this market.

This is about the Fort Erie development right? Cause for a moment I thought it was in referrence to the Niagara falls towers below that comment XD

Tis a shame though, I fail to see how it would anger the residents, as it is not even a hundred feet tall from the looks of the renders.

A lot of people in small towns get upset about projects that aren't single family homes or strip malls. I have seen opposition to 5 floor buildings as well as huge opposition for a 20 meter tall communications tower with people claiming that "they are going to build the CN tower in my backyard"

It's not a big town, all of the existing structures along the beach are 1-2 stories. If the people living there didn't want an 11 storey building I can't say I blame them.

Probably the project I'm least excited about. That part of town deserves a better design, bleh.

I think this project would have been better suited to that suburban-looking area along St-Jacques between De la Montagne and Atwater....
