^ I won't bitch about the height, just glad something's gonna replace that vulgar empty lot / fast food kiosk.

Wow that is stunning, the tower is even nicer than Vancouver's new Telus HQ... but I think the podium for the Vancouver tower will be much nicer? Can't see the podium of the Montreal one too well though, so maybe it's nice too!

Congrats for all the construction starting this year Mtl, welcome to the club!

I still prefer the Vancouver one, but this is good.

A few images of the proposed transit hub for the new Waterloo Region LRT: Approved, and will begin construction in 2014, to be completed by 2017.
First is a model of the entire area, a vision: The white buildings are existing...
[IMG][/IMG]
Here is a concept render of the actual hub, however, planning is still ongoing, and this may not be the final design:

At the bottom right of the previous image is a placeholder for a residential development. It is called 1 Victoria, 19 floors, Momentum developments, ABA architects. Here is an image from the website:

That's cool but why is the LRT station so long?

Good news, INDX has started it's excavation. The cursed site of The Toronto Tower, Sapphire Tower, and another Stinson tower which name I can't think of right now. people who bought in this tower really won't have any views unless they are above the 15th floor. I'm glad this Lot one of the very last in the core is now gone.

It has several different functions. LRT platform - Via rail platform - GO train and bus platform - city bus platform. It will be the main transit hub for Waterloo region, not just a LRT station.

Mediocre architecture for such a central site, but I'm glad this lot is gone. This, along with 100 Adelaide, will help to enliven Sheppard Street which is currently little more than a back alley.

Indx could be better, but could be much worse! It's good to bring more residents right to the core

Jeeez, before you know it, Toronto will be known as "the city that never sleeps"

The people on the north side will have an amazing view of Nathan Phillips Square. A hub of activity.

the little yellow strip above the "king st" label is the LRT stop. the huge glass enclosure is actually the GO station.

Awesome proposal for Waterloo! It's great to see TOD even in Canada's smaller cities.

Vancouver's Telus tower is somewhat bland, the podium is very unique. Montreal's proposal is the exact opposite.

waterloo will be the smallest city in North America that has LRT, so it is on the cutting edge in that regard.

A trio of great looking smaller scale proposals for Vancouver, all by the same architecture firm. I hope we see lot more work from them in the future.

It looks as though Toronto style small scale condo design has made it to the west coast.

Yeah, it's pretty awesome. Will be the smallest metro area to get LRT since Edmonton!... or maybe Calgary? How small was Cowtown when they started building it?

I love the three above for Vancouver, especially the third one.
