Good points... may as well free up the 1000 and 1100 blocks for what remains of the quality retail, not looking forward to the blight on the corner of Bute and Robson, however, which will likely remain for many years. Even their name make no sense as they were once a greeting card shop with a Canada Post outlet.

depends how you define finest - finest could mean a great selection and many options all in one store

that store does have a lot of great accessories for travellers that are hard to find at other stores

Do we know for sure if it's the corner location or one adjacent? CBRE lists the corner as 1200 Robson, though Payless did use 1202 as their municipal address: http://www.loopnet.com/Attachments/3/C/F/3CFA5BA3-E23D-443A-AF21-6393E49F84EE.pdf

We're working with the Robson Street Business Association on trying to improve the street. This is not what we were looking for :S

41000 a month for that space, so not worth it given our population/tourism numbers. But that goes for all of Robson.

I wouldn't put a shop on robson right now to save my life, it is visually unappealing, has no character and really lacks any sort of life or buzz (I remember the days of robson hopping until the early morning hours and why they put all the turn restrictions in aka "the good old days" )

I wish you luck @Retail-Insider, revitalizing Robson is going to be a very long hard road.

Would love to see robson/granville turned into a European style pedestrian mall but i'm not sure how that would work around these parts.

Not sure if it has been mentioned before but the Keg is moving from it's location on Thurlow (the Carlyle) to the Ki space above the Urban Fare at Shangri-La.

the restaurant in the hotel where shenanigans is is getting a renovation and name change - finally was so dated

robson seemed a little less something walking down it today, forever 21 was dead, barely anyone in there and store seemed smaller than i thought it would be but it was nice enough

the bay mens is still amazing, bought some pants today, was quite busy

Yeah it's definitely the corner unit.

A second Optiks International is opening downtown this month. The first at 1110 Mainland opened last fall while the new location is at 565 Howe St where they combined the old Residence at Hotel Georgia showroom with an adjacent unit.

lucky brand jeans shut down there metrotown store but looks like they are moving to a new location at the grand atrium court area instead, weird that thwy wouldn't wait to move until the new store is ready

a jewlery store is taking over their old location

also opposite of where they will be where a spa used to be is all boarded up - anyone know what might go in there? could be a large spot...

That Optiks sign/awning is awful. It looks like a bad photoshop job.

Looks like Victoria's Secret has a long way to go..

Walking past the Victoria Secret construction last night, noticed that the entrance on Burrard has advertisement for PINK by VS. What's the objective for having VIctoria Secret and PINK right next to each other?
