Great game tonight, road trip might be what the Flames needed. Kipper out with a lower body injury though, hopefully not long term. Irving held his own in the third.

Man oh man... Tampa lost today which means tomorrow's game is not only going to be for division lead but also for the Eastern Conference lead (we have the tiebreaker over Pittsburgh)!!!

Tuukka Rask vs the Habs: 1-6-1
Carey Price vs the Bruins: 15-7-3 (Price has more wins against the Bruins than any other team).

The game is also on TSN... going to be good!

Calgary played okay tonight and got the two points. Oddly enough they played much better against Chicago and Colorado but couldn't win those ones. Irving was solid in the third period. Nice to see Iggy and Tanguay playing better.

Montreal-Boston matchup tomorrow should be a good one.

Take that Florida!! I love the SE rivalries, as strange as that sounds.

The Flames have been playing quite well for 4.5 games in a row now, outside of the last three minutes vs Colorado. That includes road games in Vancouver and Detroit, and another vs the best record in hockey. Had they won two coin flips instead of losing two, and not blown 3 minutes vs Colorado, the Flames would be at least 4-0-1 in those five games. If the Flames keeping playing like this, wins will be more common than losses.

Totally different than Brent Sutter hockey.

Agreed. The record doesn't reflect the way the team is playing. Heck, even if they have a mediocre record and don't make the playoffs again, at least the games will be more entertaining.

Also, is it just me or is Chris Butler a liability out there?

Butler is annoying. Sometimes he seems like it - but last night he made at least 2 key plays that saved goals. One right in front of the net where the puck was coming off the crossbar and likely would have landed on a Detroit stick. So he's a bit of a mixed bag.

Speaking of crowd noise - Joe Louis seemed like a tomb last night. Not sure why people always focus on Calgary, it doesn't seem like ANY rink is really loud this year. Hell, even the Winnipeggers have calmed down a lot.

I must miss Butler's good plays, because all I ever seem to notice is him getting beat to the puck by a forward, and the penalty that soon follows.

Butler looks much better on the third pairing like he is now, than on the first pairing, like he was last year.

Depends. It's arguable that they've been lax defensively (and hell, offensively) because they just expect Kipper to bail them out every day.

You're probably right, but I'm really curious to see what happens.

We would kindly ask that you provide us with a faceoff specialist centre who can occasionally score. We have 2 centres out of the lineup for a while and to be honest, i'd prefer neither to return.

I thought the leafs had bad defending.... Oilers allowing five 2 on 1's , 4 posts on Dubnyk.. this game good be 6-1 thank god the post is our friend tonight! Also.. what is wrong with Hall, he could of went back hand and scored but instead the shot through the legs? Also whats with him and not looking when he passes the puck? How can we win if one of our top players doesn't use his eyes? Injuries, plus sloppy play, this is exactly what I was afraid of.

o Dallas tied the game on what was clearly an offside play. The NHL is a complete joke of a league.

How does this league expect to be taken seriously when every night, somewhere there is a controversial goal that is either allowed or disallowed by mistake? We don't see in the NFL, good field goals called back because the refs weren't paying attention, or touchdowns allowed when players are clearly offside.
