edit: it is available for booking...not featured though. Strange Airliner-route says it is not in the GDS.
This guy only typically shows any changes in frequencies or aircraft type when comparing to other periods. The reason YEG-LGW is not on this list is because it is the same frequency as last year.

Good to see SFO return to 2x Daily from 1x Daily.

Noticed AC released their summer domestic and international route adjustments. Lots of cuts on the domestic front that YEG has avoided...then again there isn't much to cut.
Almost all of those "cuts" are frequency cuts due to the implementation of the DH4 on a lot of the routes. So even though frequencies are being cut, the actual capacity on those routes will be increasing. (eg YYC-YMM is going to be all DH4). The only route mentioned seeing a capacity cut is YYC-YZF which goes to 1 daily DH4 from 2 daily CRJ. However, the 1 daily YEG-YZF flight is being upgauged to a DH4 but it will originate in YYC as will the 1 daily YEG-YMM DH4 flight also originates in YYC.

That was for the winter scheds only. The latest round of changes to AC scheds are for the summer period.

eg
YYC-YMM will go to 6 daily DH4 which is 444 seats per day (lesser on weekends of course).
YEG-YMM will go to 6 daily for the summer compared to 5 daily last summer but 1 of those will be on a DH4.
Both YEG-YQR and YEG-YXE are currently showing back to 1 daily each.
Another example is YEG-YWG for the summer, this drops from 4 daily to 3 daily compared to 2012, but 2 of the 3 services will be on the DH4. (so a miniscule 2 fewer seats per day).

Of course, AC will do more adjustments later. This current round was to accommodate the changes due to the adding of DH4 on many routes.

That's a brand new change since it showed the two daily YEG-PHX flights a few days ago.

Sounds like AA and US may be merging aswell as talks are now in the final stages...

Still waiting for the "imminent" announcement by the airport about the new cargo tenant aswell.
Thanks for the info....EIA have confirmed they do not know of it's imminent arrival, and have even checked with NavCan...but as they say, flightplans are only known 24 hours or so before hand...I have a system which monitors flight plans so within 4 hours of it being filed, I should know about it.

If US and AA merge, how would that affect their respective alliances? Oneworld vs Star

US ceases to exist as we know it. Out of Star about as fast as BMI left.

AA management ceases to exist as we know it. Doug Parker and co sell their shack in Tempe and move into DFW area.

Whenever talking about YMM, always consider what is going on with YMM-YYZ. Ac is getting very aggressive in YMM and has 3 daily mainline to YYZ plus all DH4 to YYC and 6 daily to YEG.

Additionally AC has all but removed the E90 off YEG-YYZ and YYC-YYZ while maintaining frerquency. All these combined could mean that AC is finally going to get aggressiver in Western Canada. All said, however likely AC will prune a few frequencies in the months to come.

^It could be they are getting aggressive but it could also be profit margins. Many people up there make six figures easy. When they want to fly home out east i would bet they would pay the same price or higher to avoid connecting in YEG or YYC. I haven't compared flying direct or flying through YEG or YYC but i wouldn't be surprised if there is a premium for avoiding connections. Now AC gets paid more for less actual flying time. I am surpsrised that WJ doesn't fly YMM-YYZ.

Depends on the flight. Just booked YEG-ORD on UA at $868, if I stopped in MSP w/ Delta or flew WS the ticket dropped to under $600. Same with my flight to Houston, paid just north of $950, if I stopped in DEN, SEA or SFO the price dropped big time. Depends on the route, the competition, and load factors. Look at a new route like YEG-EWR, they aren't going to charge a premium on that route until they know the load factors and demand. Right now n/s is the cheapest option...or at least tied for cheapest.

It is interesting and sad at the same time. We all want non-stop service but when we get it, the price creeps up substantially for those flights. Add WS to the list on the Orlando flights. Yeah it's nonstop but $200/25% more expensive.

Another option that irks me is the YEG-LHR flight or some of the US flights you mentioned. If you fly YEG-LHR-TXL, the damage is $1,300. If you fly YEG-LHR alone, it is $1,500. Many suggest on this forum to book YEG-LHR and then try to connect on another airline. Not with that pricing structure.

By the way, flying to Orlando via EWR is less expensive ($552) than flying YEG-EWR alone ($680).

Looks like allegiant air is off the YEG and YYC flights to Laughlin. Republic operated the flight from YEG tonight using a E-190 in Frontier airlines colors. They have also been flying the route from YYC for the last week or so.

Looks like Daryl Katz gets his new toy in June. Aurora jet partners awaits the delivery of the Global 5000, and I believe it will available as part of the fractional program once it enters service. Aurora is now also operating a pair of new Challenger 300's. nice to see the company doing well with its new digs at YEG.

Air Canada introduces Q400 Service in Western Canada; increases capacity with next-generation aircraft
Friday February 1st 2013 - Air Canada Press Release

With Feb. 1 departures of Air Canada Express flights AC8371 from Calgary to Fort McMurray, AC8430 from Calgary to Regina and AC8586 from Calgary to Saskatoon, Air Canada introduced new Q400 service in Western Canada. Concurrent with rolling out new, state-of-the-art Bombardier Q400 Next Generation aircraft in these markets, Air Canada announced it is boosting capacity on key regional routes this spring and summer in response to demand.

"Today, we are delighted to introduce the newest, ultra-quiet regional aircraft for customers in Alberta and Saskatchewan," said Marcel Forget, Air Canada's vice president, Network Planning. "This spring, Air Canada will strategically increase capacity by either scheduling larger aircraft or adding flights to meet strong demand in Western Canada and we will continue to roll out the Q400 aircraft on additional routes in BC, Alberta and the Northwest Territories in the coming months. Air Canada Express flights are scheduled to enable convenient, point-to-point, same-day business travel, as well as convenient and easy connections to Air Canada's extensive domestic, U.S. and international network at Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver."

How does Edmonton get 100 seats for Regina and Saskatoon when they are using a 74 seat plane?

They aren't using the Q400 on the YEG - YQR flight. They are increasing service from 1 flight a day to 2 with DHC3.
