V-And yet another great academic design!

LOL, GThomas - You deleted and then repsosted! A beautiful design, in my opinion. Very befitting of the latest architecture on the original Tech campus.

I just perused their website - they do some outstanding work!

I'd imagine it's a reflection. GSU tends to buy up parking decks rather than build them these days, plus where the car is wouldn't be the ideal place to put a parking deck.

With the construction going on, eventually John Wesley Dobbs is going to be something special.

This building is right on the street. What are the odds of turning this stretch of 10th into a more urban environment? It kinda has a campus/suburban feel from the interstate through Northside Dr. I wonder if someone will ever buy up all those properties on the North side of 10th and start building some Condo's/Apts/Office towers all the way to Atlantic Station?

Actually this building is set back quite a ways from the street, close to the existing parking structure. I was kinda disappointed in that. But it's still a great looking that will help to improve the look of 10th street. Just not so much the in the urban sense. Harumph.

Update on 131 Ponce de Leon Ave

The abandoned building next to the church on the lot has been demolished and is now a pile of rubble.

Twelve Midtown Tower

Hello, Does anyone have any information on the proposed 746', 58 floor Twelve Midtown tower? The diagrams page shows it as a "Stale Proposal". I was curious because I have not seen any new information in a long time. Is this project dead? From the renderings it looks pretty sharp and it would definitely make an impact on the skyline at 746 feet! I live in Phoenix now but I grew up close to Atlanta. My first visit to Atlanta at a very young age was when my love for skyscrapers, buildings and architecture began. Atlanta is and always will be my absolute favorite city in the world - best skyscrapers, best skyline, best everything! There may be cities that have taller buildings or bigger skylines but NO other city compares to Atlanta in my heart...Anyway, I was wondering about this particular project and if anyone has any info to share - thank you very much in advance for any information! God Bless...
Sincerely,
Chris Ozley

Ohh, didn't realize that, I drive down 10th everyday and it looked like it was going to be right on the street.

where did you find the plans for this— can you share them?

i know that 12th and midtown is looking to expand, they've bought up several properties and are looking to make an announcement soon:

Maybe if a streetcar line eventually goes along 10th street, those setbacks could be shaved down to make room for the tracks. One could hope.

I think OZ1970 was referring to the Twelve Midtown tower that was proposed at 14th and West Peachtree. It's so old that I can't find the renderings anymore

I was there back on the 10th: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9bIrApWAjA
when site preparation was beginning. RIP Johnsons Fine Offices

Next door, the Gulf Oil Building may not be I.M. Pei's most beautiful, but it was his 1st. Built in 1949, a 50,000 square feet two-story "box that invoked the lean rectilinearity of "Mies van der Rohe." I'm stoked part will be saved!

I wonder what will become of the church on the corner of Piedmont and Ponce?
