For the record, Mr. Martin's appeal has now been dismissed by the Supreme Court with costs to the City.

I think that makes it 27 courts that have told him that he is wrong. Looking forward to his appeal to the Supreme Galactic Space Court.

That's why I think that the idea to be able to pick a couple more cold ones at the LCBO next door to the stadium during half-time just won't happen.

There will be too many nannystating security types around to let that happen.

It has nothing to do with the nanny state. The stadium operators need to protect their beverage sales. Regardless, the LCBO will do fine, especially if they close the Clemow Street store.
The retail mix, however, still remains yawnsome. This really is a neighborhood shopping centre: groceries, bank, lcbo, bar & grill. I can't imagine anyone seeing this as a destination shopping spot. I was very sceptical when Trinity touted a catchment area of 250,000 people spanning half the city. Tenants seem to agree.

You're right about this. More like a neighbourhood shopping centre.

Of course, there is the movie theatre and I think Sporting Life should be in there also.

Whole Foods is not a typical grocery store either. There's McKeen Metro in the Glebe and a Loblaws at both Isabella and Billings Bridge. There's a LCBO and banking facilities at both of those places also.

The restaurants will probably cater to the sports crowd before and after game times.

Any mention of public washrooms on the grounds, outside the stadium/arena?

I'm really excited for Whole Foods, yes there is a LOEB or Metro on 4th and a Loblaws at Pretoria, but Whole Foods blows both of them out of the water.

But its important to remember that the visitors to the stadium grounds won't be there when there are football and soccer games, there are a ton of other events that will be held there. 67's game, Bon Apetit and other dining/wine events, concerts (the talent and bands/goups that have stopped in Ottawa over the last few years has been substantially improved) and many other events, sports training camps, etc...

I'm just excited that construction is moving along and the whole legal mess seems to be long gone.

However, having said that, we seem to be ignoring the elephant in the room that'll keep people away from Lansdowne - the new team name. The Red Blacks? Really???

How do you compare between Metro, Loblaws and Whole Foods?

Maybe a better comparison would be between Whole Foods and Farm Boy?

Farm Boy, Whole Foods, and O Goodness Me, are all grocery/produce stores that I would call "Higher End" and Loblaws and Metro both being between the middle of the road and leaning towards the higher end.
