You're darn right! This is the right time for casinos to come down to Miami, we need to be the next Las Vegas.

That is, if the damn FAA doesn't ban the casinos in Miami-Dade!

This is a skyscraper site where, oddly enough (beats the hell out of me too), lots of people like skyscrapers and wouldn't mind seeing more of them.

Weird, I know.

Reminds me of Union Bank Plaza here in LA. And that was built in the 1960's so that should tell you something.

If you look closely at the details of the proposal, it is a far superior design. The curves on the balconies and near the roof are very mid-century-modernist and fit in well with the retro feel of Miami. This isn't some average 60's box. The small details really turn this building into something better. The curved concrete touches reminds me of Brazilian architecture from that time. In fact, there is an element of the classic glamour of the 60's or 70's. I can understand why it is a downer coming from a firm who often design very novel structures, but it is not as banal as that L.A box or the average box from that time!! This is the kind of architecture that uses nostalgia as an inspiration IMO.

Fine. A box with swag. Nothing special at all about it but we'll see.

Jade Signature will be the tallest building in Sunny Isles Beach at 649 feet. It will also be the sixth skyscraper over 500 feet in this tiny city which is more than Tampa or Jacksonville currently has!

Wow! Very cool! This will be first tallest tower in Sunny Isles Beach near Aventura, FL. I knows where the Trump hotel is in Sunny Isles Beach, am I correct? Does anybody know about the entire building?

Excuse my ignorance, but why are the towers on such huge podiums? Surely that all can't be for parking.

Mostly a shopping mall. ~700,000 square feet of retail with mostly underground parking.
