An 82 games season is more demanding than a shortened one. A cup is a cup by for me personally, an 82 games season Cup is more significant than an 48 games season Cup.

Anyway I'll be curious to see what the Habs can do with Markov. As shocking as it might seems his knee is still holding up.

Hopefully we'll see a few games with Subban and Marky on the PP.

I expect to Galchenyuk play the 9 games trial before a decision on him is made.

Looking forward to getting the NHL back. My life has been lacking without it.

Pretty wide open in a shortened season. Teams that have good goaltending are at an advantage, and mediocore teams that have streaky goaltending could rocket up the standings with a hot month of play. As a Jets fan, here's to hoping we get the good Ondrej more often then the bad Ondrej.

I find it funny how much today I'm seeing hockey fandom split into basically 2 camps:

One that is pissing and moaning about a shortened season not being the same, not counting, etc.

And the other that has spent the better part of 50 years pissing and moaning that the season is way too long, that it should always be 40-50 games, that there are too many teams, etc.

It's also amusing to see the times when these groups overlap. I've caught more than one person who's in group B suddenly complaining about the short season today. I think a lot of people just like to whine about *something*, regardless.

I emphasize theoretically.

The best part of this lockout - the Maple Leafs are now officially the only team to have entirely missed the post-season between 2 lockouts (or during an entire CBA, if you prefer).

Between 94 and 2004 there were technically 2 other teams to miss the post-season, Atlanta and Columbus, but they didn't play the entire time (ATL joined in 1999 and CBJ in 2000).

Completely arbitrary and meaningless dates, I realize, but still funny as hell.

Good news, with college football closing out tonight and the NFL winding down. It will be good to have hockey back.

I truly hope that they start with a full slate of games on opening night. And it would be awesome if everyone got up and left right after the national anthems were played.

With another year after this one. Fortunately, we can buy him out thanks to the new CBA. Unfortunately, the Flames are still poorly managed. We'll see what this shortened season brings - if Sven isn't playing 10-15 mins every night, we'll have our answer.

My thoughts exactly! Haven't missed hockey a bit since I like football way more anyway... but February onward was looking shitty there for a while, but not now!
