Looks nice! West Georgia Street is not among the most attractive pedestrian streets, but this is definitely a huge improvement to the overall look of that stretch!

Yeah its hard to tell if the glass floor is raised or not. Nobody in the render is walking on it so who knows.

Notice the koi pond in the first pic? Pretty cool for the lobby of an office tower.

Too bad koi would never last a week in Vancouver, even there. Raccoons would have a feast - and if not the bum urine would kill them.

Looks great in general though.

Racoons don't have the ability to break into locked office tower lobbies last time I checked.

The Fairmont Pac Rim has fish living in their outdoor entrance pond, and they survive fine , no raccoons come and visit. I'm sure they will survive just fine in an indoor pond depending on how the water is treated.

There's been koi in the public section of Sun Yat-Set Garden for years and years, they're big and fat and doing fine...

Looks like the glass is at ground level, not raised, judging by the continuity of the shadows on the left.

I suspect that the pond is there to avoid having an anti-head-bumping railing in the vicinity where the wooden arches/beams come down to the ground.

Koi used to be in the Central Park ponds before they drained them last year. They are also in the SFU reflection pond. Raccoons must be too busy robbing houses.

I guess I'm just bitter because my place was professionally staged, complete with a koi pond, and the koi were gone within a week of moving in.

Later the raccoon family started using the pond as their own personal hot tub, so I filled it in.

There are tons of koi fish in the pond at UBC's Nitobe Gardens. Students are well aware of the notorious raccoon problem on campus (they are always in packs, are vicious to the point there are documented stories of students being chased). But the koi still thrive.

What's being planned for the street-level glass floor?

We had a big raccoon problem on our property in the British Properties growing up. That's how my dad taught me to shoot :p

This complex seems to be progressing slowly but it's such a massive project. This should be the one to watch over the next 18-24 months...
