There is still the possibility to do something there but its importance has dropped as other adjacent sites have much more potential and will likely be developed first.

One day it may see a tower but I would assume that will be a ways off and it will never be a tower of any significant height.

As per a Tour des Canadiens salesman, it is 100% sold.

Wow! it was only officially on sale this weekend! Impressive. No wonder that Roccabella has started to advertise on the Téléjournal at 10.

Roccabella's marketing has been quite underwhelming considering their location and the competition they are facing. I think this will give them a good kick in the ass

Roccabella has an uphill battle ahead of them, especially if you take into account the fact that they are slated to be virtually sandwiched by 3-4 towers other towers...

True enough, spotted a couple of their ads and I wish this will help a bit. I actually like this project, not too tall, but tall enough to build a strong canyon along R-L. Not terribly attractive, but enough not to make me gouge my eyes out.

I heard from a contact last week that sales were approaching 50%. Also, the team is fully confident that 70%, even 75-80 will be reached before Christmas time! Maybe they're counting on those ads quite a bit ?

According to the very reliable magazine Les Affaires, this one is 88% sold. Only 64 units remaining. Might as well say it's a solid sold-out.

Good news. Is there an official date for the ceremonial ground breaking?

The promoter says construction should start this spring.

88% sold.
Floors not yet released are 39, 40 & 41.
The optimistic in me says they can add 10 more floors to this one and make it 58!

This building cannot go higher due to land constraints, not enough space to build a bigger garage space or a lobby for a hotel. It will remain at 48. But CF might get started on the following phase down the hill very soon.

L'avenue has been doing fantastic too, and its height may very well get a boost to 57 floors (200m), that's what I'm keeping my eye on.

Probably for the best, given how tight the lot is. I lived in a 35 or so story condo tower in Vancouver with only 2 elevators. Quickly gets ugly when one of them breaks down or is reserved for moving, which was seemingly all the time.

^ I know what you mean. I had the same problem in my old condo (in Vancouver too, actually). I only lived on the 4th floor but it took me forever to get down in the morning. One elevator was seemingly always reserved for freight and the other was like a SUV stuck in morning gridlock.

I much prefer living in a triplex or in a building close to the street, thank you

Fantastic. It is so exciting seeing all these high density projects proposed/UC in Montreal. 2 floors for each Stanley Cup win.

Il y avait pas trop d'action dans le bureau de vente. Pourtant les autres fois que j'ai visiter c'était plein a craquer!

They are increasing this project by 2 stories for a total of 50 floors! Expect the announcement in January. As a real estate agent, I am automatically informed when any changes occur. I received an email this week from the developer letting me know that sales are in excess of 85% sold out as of right now. This project is a go. I think it will add to the skyline of Montreal very nicely.

Finally a project that will increase in height after a series of proposals which downsized. I looking forward to see a mass of cranes in this end Downtown.

FROM
Allison Lampert from The Gazette Blog:

Looks like the Tour des Canadiens might be getting taller.

Developers of the 48-storey condo tower near Montreal’s Bell Centre are looking to add extra floors now that the estimated 500 unit project is virtually sold out, I hear.

Sales of the condo project associated with the Habs blew away the expectations of its developers, Canderel and Cadillac Fairview Corp. Ltd.

Buyers in the project include a mix of parents buying condos for their university-aged children, aging boomers looking for a place to downsize upon delivery in 2016, non-Montrealers looking for a pied à terre in the city - and of course, investors looking to rent their units, I’m told. Unlike the situation at several projects in downtown Toronto, speculation in the project – where buyers flip their units for a profit as soon as the project is completed - is at a minimum.

Haven’t yet gotten a call back from Canderel, but a spokesperson for Ville Marie confirmed that the downtown borough is currently studying a new permit request for the project. The Tour des Canadiens is authorized to go as tall as 61 storeys.
