Such an improvement. Lower Manhattan looked way too boxy in the 1988 shot. I love the modernity and the sleekness of the current photo. Would look even more beautiful if we got the original fucking spire we were promised. ugh.

sucks to say but as much as i miss the twin towers, those new towers make the downtown skyline look SO MUCH better...and there are more to come.

where are we? will the antenna be brought over from newark this weekend? anyone know when?? we all wanna see it up close before it goes up!

Just imagine seeing that same view of Lower Manhattan this time next year when both 1 and 4 WTC are fully clad. It'll be insane!

^ The glass has progressed quite a bit this week,so I'm sure the glass will increase steadily over the next few months.

That hurt. the radome would have complimented the Statue of Liberty very well. The only thing I didn't like about that design was the dark line in it. What was supposed to be the use of that? Also, if they want to not add anything to the current mast, what is the need for those "saucers" in it?

And in my personal opinion I could do without the radome on the antenna. If that prevents them from getting the 1,776 feet, well then they should have thought about that before giving the go ahead. I honestly think that the antenna with the radome in place looks like something that belongs on a unicorn. I would prefer an antenna similar to the one that was on the North Tower.

There wont be a randome so i guess you dont have to worry about that if you didnt know that you can find some renderings of the antenna somewhere in this thread
