I don't think it is sped up too much, the estimated time between stations is 2 minutes, and it will be at least a minute of loading/unloading passengers so the trip down to sunalta can't be more then 6 minutes without really stopping at stations.
According to this, 69th St to Sunalta travel time is 10 minutes. Assuming that station stops are 30 seconds, that still leaves 8 minutes of the train actually moving (there are four stops between 69th and Sunalta), meaning that the video is sped up to about 2x.
I'm pretty sure I saw glass on the light cannons in the construction pics. And no, there is no glass at sirroco or the other at grade stations... quite ridiculous actually.

I don't know how its ridiculous, the west LRT stations are probably already more enclosed then most other stations in the city. Most stations are not enclosed from the side at all, and have roof coverings over about half of the platform. The WLRT stations have the half roofs, but are also mostly enclosed from the sides.
Also, making them fully enclosed adds to a wind tunnel effect.
Asshole people seem to like breaking the glass at the existing stations, no reason to suspect they wouldn't do the same with these stations, maybe that's a factor in the no glass decision.
On the video,
69th St to Sirocco is 54 seconds.
Sirocco to 45th Street is 46 seconds
45th Street to Westbrook is 50 seconds
Westbrook to Shaganappi Point is 35 seconds
Shaganappi Point to Sunalta is 58 seconds.
Official travel times are basically 2 minutes in between every station, but that includes time stopped at stations too.
Martindale to Saddletowne is, in real time, 2:26 in this video.
Also, making stations too enclosed and comfortable means extra resources to police them.
I get that part, but I hate policy designed to make public spaces as uncomfortable as possible due to the 0.1% of users who might stick around too long.

I'm sure that is the reason.
They took all the glass out of the sides at the Anderson station platform. I'm sure they got fed up with constantly relacing these large panes of glass.
