Fyi... they're planning to restore the natural shoreline of the Don River. Better rally up some of the fanboys to stop them if you want to save your 20th century big-city pastiche and don't want Toronto to turn into a "small town".

Is all that parking on private land or public? If it's private, then eliminating it is not out of the question at all, it is up to the landowner.

Is it me, or the CN tower lack the height ? ... It seems the observation deck (I mean where the restaurant is) should be higher than the top of the first canadian place, isnt?

Thats perspective... FCP is closer than CN, so it appears taller...

Wow, this totally looks like the edge of Central Park (Canyon effect). A park right there would be amazing. I love this skyscraper wall that we have here. Hopefully something amazing can be done with this area. I could totally see those trees being in the middle of a grand avenue with a park along the tracks. Someone build a parkade for all of those cars!!

Exactly! Makes you wonder if he's ever been to Toronto. Harbourfront Centre is downtown, the Don is miles away.

That's so weird that you said that. I made the exact same comment somewhere else a few hours ago. Bury the tracks, build a large urban park on the parking lots, over the tracks, and over the parking lots on the other side. It would look dynamite!

Irrespective of what you people are arguing about, the Don River does not go through downtown Toronto per se. The Wikipedia article for "downtown Toronto" makes the Don the eastern boundary for downtown, with Bathurst the western boundary.

Though I've always thought that odd. I've always seen Parliament as the eastern boundary of downtown.

I'd say downtown runs from Spadina to Parliament.
