Are you referring to this Cowboy Properties Project on 100 S and 200 E?

Thank you Future Mayor! Gerat info on the Broadway Lofts. And yes, that is the office tower I was referring to.

Broadway Park Lofts technically didn't go bankrupt, at least the developer didn't go bankrupt, rather the original financing bank went bankrupt. The FDIC took over the bank and sold off its assets of which the BPL loan was included. The original developer couldn't get capital together fast enough to repurchase the loan so they essentially lost the project because of external forces. You will remember that auction they held last year was part of the efforts of the original developer to get quick capital to try to purchase the loan.

I suppose it's necessary to have buildings of that height, and something is better than nothing, but I really dont like that design. Could be the rendering, but it's so squat, so boxy. That and the combination of brick and blue glass reminds me more of suburban office parks of the late 80s/early 90s than what I'd like to see downtown in 2013. To me it just looks cheap and dated.

What do you mean by "parking on the street" That the parking garage shows cars on the on ground floor viewable from the street? I do remember that one options included retail on the first floor of the south portion of the garage, the part that faces 200 East.

As for the start date, Jedi beet me to it. I think it was scheduled for 1992 in Murray.

I have to agree with you guys on the design of the new building that Boyer wants to put up downtown. I think that architects should have to have a special qualification to design for an urban setting because that type of design should not be allowed. At least people will not be able to see it from the west when the photos are taken with the mountains in the backdrop.

I certainly do not hate the building proposed at 101 S. 200 E. but I can't say I'm a huge fan. It's nothing extraordinary architecturally, especially when you have a beautiful building right across the street, St. Mark's Cathedral. I think if it had a little more height it wouldn't appear as boxey or squatty. (Though honestly, I'm unsure whether those are actual words or not). I will say that I will enjoy no longer looking at a huge vacant parking lot when I walk or drive by.

To answer some questions posed, it will be a while before we see any construction as Boyer has not even submitted plans for review yet. Also they will need to provide retail space along 200 East. They requested the Planning Commission to waive the requirement, they declined to do so.

Oh, I should have said a parking garage as street engagement, and I absolutely hate that.

I don't like it at all. It's ugly and looks like something they would build in some bland suburban office park. I actually would rather the lot sit vacant a few more years until we can get something decent there instead of taking up semi-valuable land with this ... thing.

I knew you'd appreciate something from the Motherland Lee. I do hope though that Hamilton will think a little outside the box on this UPAC Tower, also the CC Hotel. There's no reason why SLC can't have something iconic on these two upcoming 450-500 footers.

Hey Ctobsl, I really enjoyed your last mockup of the Austoinian. I've been meaning to ask you if you could do a mockup of the two towers in their respective locations, assuming Royalwood, and of course the UPAC corner on 1st and Main? Perhaps, using the same 'CountyLemonade' perspective you used for the last cool draft of the Austonian? I don't know, but maybe the Austonian again, but at the Royalwood site, and the Bishopsgate at the UPAC site. Make the hotel a perspective facsimile of 400-450' and perhaps the Bishopsgate at 500'.
