Is there an updated height for the Walnut Street tower? Based on this rendering, I would guess that it's sub-500 ft, maybe just slightly taller than the orignal Cira:

I was talking to one of my friends over the weekend about Cira South (he works in the IRS building/old post office). He was telling me that one of the entrances to the garage (the new one between the two Cira South towers) was closed down. I walked by there today during lunch and sure enough the sidewalk was closed off and down below they seemed to be moving some dirt around. This is for the north tower. Sorry no pictures.

Yeah I walked by on my way to work this morning, there's definitely something going on down there -- equipment was digging up dirt, some surveyors on site. Didn't exactly seem picture worthy, so sorry for no shots. But let's hope for the best.

Walked by the site today. The entire green parcel at 30th and Chestnut is gone, and demolition crews are tearing out the Chestnut St. garage entrance. My best guess is that it's a prelude to site prep; if so, the next step would be to bring in the pile driver.

Well, it seems that first come the residents (we have been seeing a residential boom in the city for a while), then come the retailers (we are currently seeing a retail boom in the city), then come the jobs. New jobs is the likely next step in the chain of events.

I don't know how many simultaneous projects Brandywine can work, but I don't think we'll be seeing much traction on the Walnut tower until the Chestnut one is significantly closer to completion.

Remember, Brandywine is now working 2 projects simultaneously--this, and 1919 Market (which is in the legal/approvals stage).

I do not see why it would matter how many projects they are working on. They already have the financing in place from the new credit lines they got last year. Brandywine has credit lines in the multi-billion dollar range. They have also been divesting their California holdings and their suburban NJ, PA and MD holdings to concentrate more on the core assets in Philadelphia, Austin and Richmond. Rumor in the construction world is that the Walnut Street Tower is not that far off and will be roughly the same height as the Cira Center.

If the second and third towers are built it could usher in exponential growth on the left bank. In Valencia Spain there is a cluster of very futuristic building by Calatrava, that remind me of what this part of the city could become.
