Actually the cold front is just west of us so it'll be dropping to the 30s and 40s in a few moments...Currently it's gloomy, grey and gusty.....horror movie weather.

Still in the 50s here in Iowa City but gray and rainy and my sinuses hurt. Damn Midwest weather.

Exclamation

Just a note in light of some recent forum drama, moderation does monitor this thread from time to time so just a forewarning: discussing forumers in a disparaging manner will not be tolerated. It leads to more drama which means more shit I have to deal with...

And no, the "code words" aren't fooling anyone....

Lovely morning. 40F here, rain with 20mph winds out of the west. Forty miles to the west and headed this way is a pocket of snow preceded by a snow-and-ice mix. Good day to take refuge with a blanket in my recliner, but I have to go to a doctor's appointment through one of the worst traffic areas in the city just about the time that stuff hits.

I have it from a reliable source that Vid is thinking of leaving too. At least temporarily.

How apropos, people abandoning the midwest/rustbelt. I have it on good authority that Cleveland Brown may take his infrequent banter to the other regional coffee talks.

Well I am more thinking of just getting my skybar privileges revoked (voluntarily) along with the CE privileges and trying to wean myself off of this place so that I can devote my free time to more useful things. I am supposed to be studying to get my G1 License this week...

Also I need to get out more so that I can get laid more often because I haven't given up like Buckeye has. I still have a tiny bit of optimism burning inside the depths of my cold, dark soul. It's horny. I think this is one of those posts that Shiro said was line-crossing.

Shiro is not the one you need to be worried about. Just drop it.

i understand where vid's coming from. two days ago, i unplugged my router, shut off my phone, and had someone hide both of them. i wrote 2500 words towards my term paper in less than six hours. i literally work five times faster without any internet distraction. new problem, though: this next assignment requires internet. hence my being here.

I've been doing 'research' for my paper all day. I have half a dozen tabs open with various articles, but haven't read anything yet. Fortunately the paper is due Wednesday and not tomorrow. I hate myself for being so damn good at procrastinating.

I procrastinated the whole college thing hence I'm 52 and still work in a warehouse....Meh, I guess it's not sooo bad though since I've only been unemployed a total of 3 months since 1976 (not bad considering I live in a place that was at rock bottom for over 2 decades), I've always had a working car, my home was paid off completely when I was only 28, but I always wonder what I could have achieved if I actually went to school.

Yeah, do I think about it once in a while but try not to dwell on it. I'm just grateful for what I have....like a good dental plan.

I need to learn how to shut up, and stay shut up. I am starting to feel like I am at the point where I always leave this place feeling worse than when I arrived.

just don't aggravate the situation more than it already is. if you just let it go, you'll be fine.

I've seen the drunken thread. My liver hurts thinking of some of you "regular" posters in that thread. I'm surprised we don't see AA ads around here
