I wonder why this project didn't go through? Was it priced too high? If this project didn't get enough interest, that kinda leaves the Glasshouse and dCondos at a disadvantage for proving positive results.

Dennistoun was considerably more expensive than Glasshouse and dCondos.

That sure doesn't seem unreasonable to me.

There are most certainly people out there that can afford that. I don't know why some people are so shocked about this.

Dennistoun is starting at $349/sq foot (795 sq feet @ $277, 500)
Glasshouse is starting at $340/sq foot (500 sq feet @ $169,900) (http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/opinion...nes-throw-from-mts-centre-177816181.html)
dCondos is starting at $371/sq foot (700 sq feet @ $259, 900) (http://www.buzzbuzzhome.com/d-condo)

Denniston sounds like they had their price points right on par.
(which means my place at the ashdown should be worth over a half million at those rates. Too bad that just isn't so )

PS
Is it just me?, or did some of you out there also get excited when the Glasshouse intro page was loading, with the count up to 100, resembling the possibility of how many floors it was gonna be? I first thought it was to give the viewer a feeling of being in the elevator going up to the Glasshouse. (Reality set it when the page was loading past 42 percent)

Hotels

I was in town last weekend for a number of reasons, including the last Bombers game at the Stadium (again). I noticed that the Hampton Inn by Hilton is coming along well and site prep appears to have started at the Homewood Suites by Hilton. It will be nice to have multiple Hilton options to choose from again. As it was, I was hopping between the two Four Points (Airport and Pembina) to increase my status with Starwood and maximize some bonus point promotions. Hopefully we get some good news this week about a major chain getting a location downtown.

I should have mentioned this earlier but around early September I saw some construction happening in front of the Grace Hospital on a beautiful piece of green space near Sturgeon Rd. What are they building? When I was there, it sure screwed up the bike path. I hope the finished building or whatever they're building doesn't take up too much room because although it's little I love biking through there every summer and has good scenery.

Green space by sturgeon? It must be the new bridge over sturgeon creek. There is a covering placed over top- I am thinking it may be to shelter the bridge from sthe elements, or for the workers? The access centre is closer to booth, on the old doctor's parking lot.

It will not be a covered bridge, this is exactly what you said above, "shelter the bridge from the elements" during construction.

As others have mentioned the construction on the green space near the Grace hospital and Sturgeon is likely referring to the bridge replacement. They are currently working on the north bound side. When that is completed the old south bound structure will be removed and a similar structure to the new north bound one built in its place. Once both sides are completed the new bridge height will allow for the trail to pass underneath. The added height of the bridge is also meant to provide additional protection from spring flooding.
