I remeber when I was a kid, Westmount was THE mall in the city. The battle was always between White Oaks and Westmount {except downtown/Wellington Square} for dominance.

Cherryhill will always do well as it doesn't rely on any commuter traffic but just the very local seniors and Western students...........it's got a captive market and many in the whole Cherryhill area don't have cars.

I think London will be eventually be reduced to a few malls .......Masonville, WhiteOaks, Cherryhill, and, wait for it, Arglye. WO & Masonville have a complete dominance and really don't compete with each other as they are on totally opposite sides of the city and have different demographics. In reality Masonville's biggest competito is not a mall but Richmond Row. Cherryhill has a complete captive audience and always will. Arglye, while closer to Masonville, serves a completely different income level and consumer. It is very much a "working class" mall serving the far less affluent E.of A. who simply can't entertain shopping at the high end stores of Masonville. Arglye is a dump and always was but it suits it's purpose and clientele.
