I don't doubt that your posts are widely read. SSP is more popular than a lot of people think. Things that are said on here can be influential and can serve as source material for the more formal media outlets. We have certainly seen this before.

Tag store, the lot for Building "A" (yet to be constructed) is on the right.



Building "B", home of Bombay Company, Carters/OshKosh and soon Wicker Emporium and Banana Republic. There are five other vacant spaces in this plaza for additional retailers.

The main building, PetSmart and Bed, Bath & Beyond are to the right. The two storefronts to the left are presently incognito.

Thanks for the photo update MonctonRad...I haven't been through the site in about a month (just quick drive-bys)...a month makes a huge difference with this development!

Here's hoping for Best Buy, but my hope is also fading away bit by bit. Regardless this is shaping up to be the largest retail development year we have seen in a while!

Also, guess MonctonRad DID beat me to the punch and posted pics today of Mapleton Power Center shops, so I won't bother posting mine since they're pretty much identical. Nice pics man.

I can vouch as well for the popularity of Moxies... I went to take my pics around 4:00pm and there were cars lined up along the main roadway on BOTH sides from right around the bend all the way to the empty pad next door from the restaurant. Guess I'll have to wait until March to try this place and see if things have improved from when I went to the one in Dartmouth Crossing.

Actually, I have to agree with this mock-up... I passed by a Rona today (Elmsdale, NS) on my way to Halifax and from what I could see from the highway, the colors and shape of the Rona sign looked identical to what we have at Mapleton Power Center. They did seem to have a lumber yard out back, but as mentioned before, I don't think there's space for that at the Power Center, so we will likely get a specialty Rona which doesn't sell lumber, just hardware tools, etc. The only thing missing on the side of the building are the yellow stripes as depicted above.

As much as I keep wishing it's going to be a BestBuy, I'm starting to think it'll be a specialty Rona. I'm more inclined to be giddy about electronics vs. hardware, but at least I'll be able to continue collecting AirMiles if I ever want to buy another set of power tools

Is it just me or does the Tag building look like a Linen-N-Things building? Many of the Linen-N-Things stores that I've seen have this shape and look... This development used to have one of those store planned before it went belly up.

Tag stores took over some of the closed linens-n-things locations so they must have kept the retrofitted design.

The Tag in Dartmouth was the old Future Shop. They have some nice stuff, I've bought a jacket from the Dartmouth store.

They just opened stores in Windsor, ON & St. Catherines, ON.

Here is a photo of the Cole Harbour Rona. It used to be a Pierceys like the new Rona stores in Elmsdale, Tantallon, Burnside and Robie St. They have lumber yards because Pierceys did.

The Big Box Rona in Bayers Lake looks like this from the front:

Ya we have a Rona already in Shediac, looks similar to the small location shot you posted q12. Well if that's what it is I will still be happy because I strongly dislike Kent, so it would be nice to have another option other than the Orange guys in that area

The article on the small store concept for Rona didn't mention expansion to NB; but it did suggest to NS.

The yellow bar on those buildings does make it more likely now too. While the geek in me would sort've like to see a Best Buy, the signs seem to hint more and more strongly at a Rona. It would be their first 'big' store in NB wouldn't it?

Are we sure that Pet Smart is on the far right of that strip of stores? Yes, the temporary sign was there, but it has since been removed. Maybe they just had the sign up on that end of the building because it was more visible from Wheeler Blvd.

I hate to say it, but that doesn't look like 'Best Buy blue'... but I could be wrong. It does look very similar to Rona colors. But from my past experiences, Rona usually set up stand-alone locations. Time will tell, I guess...
