Buckhead view renders http://www.buckheadview.com/
It's a bit too faux for me.
There is another nicer project on Roswell rd between Andrews and Peachtree, about 15 story high brick building, the rendering is posted on the location but didn't take picture. It's been there for a while. Does anyone know what it is?

I'm not sure it would have made a huge amount of sense to building that segment standing alone with no connection to Marta. Here's how I think that it will end up with the streetcar connecting the eastside Beltline to downtown, which I personally think is kinda great. I think that along with a connection via perhaps tenth street to Midtown that Beltline segment would end up being very effective.

Image from google maps, edited by me.

[ Note: the streetcar is off by a block by Woodruff Park, I do not want to go and fix it ]

Yep. That would be cool. I was talking to one of the engineers from URS a few weeks ago and he said when the Edgewood bridge over the Beltline is rebuilt (finishing sometime in 2013), they are planning on providing bed for streetcar extension east that would be at-grade to the beltline. I was afraid they were going to plan for it to be on the bridge itself.

I can definitely confirm that Skyhouse 2 (on the back of Viewpoint along Juniper) is about to start site prep. All the trees have X's, there's demolition equipment for the old Loca Luna and the sidewalk is marked up with spraypaint. I guess Skyhouse 1 rentals are going really well.

Indeed. I can confirm site preparation has begun.
See video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wIm7Y-nqMZs&feature=g-upl

A crew of a few were digging holes, moving dirt, and supervising each other at "100 6th Street." Site preparation has just beginning and from the looks of things they are not in too much of a rush, yet... One heavy piece of machinery (foundation drill?) and a cop on site. The entire western block will be taken up by this project. All the trees along Juniper between 6th and 7th St have X's on them (including Viewpoint's garage entrance-way) which may indicate a "Skyhouse"style footprint.

There was some gorgeous nighttime aerial footage of the city during Sunday Night Football this week. Does anyone have any photos of this or similar pictures they're willing to share? These are the kinds of views of town that were sorely missing during the Olympics, when they seemed to focus on the Georgia Capitol and the 2 Peachtree building.

Nice! Thanks for the update. Despite the garage not being ideal, I'm pretty excited we'll be replacing that fence and retaining wall along Juniper with some retail.

It drives me crazy when they show all these interesting images that should be expandable at 200x200px.

New Cox Tower

I thought I'd share this good news I received the other day regarding Cox Communications expansion of their Dunwoody HQ Campus:

"The Cox Communications tower will be designed by Duda/Paine (architect for our entire campus) with the support of Holder Construction, under the direction of our own Cox internal steering committee. The new tower will be located in the space east of the Central Park rotunda between the loading dock, circle drive and Central Park Drive.

Below are a few details about the new building:
· 578,000 sq. ft., 19 floors, two-amenity floors and an additional parking deck will be built.
· Building will be capable of accommodating 1,650 employees.
· The existing Chip Allen Fitness Center will be converted to expanded conference center space, and a new, larger Fitness Center will be built to handle the additional employees.
· The existing Central Park dining center will expand in the seating, serving and kitchen areas to serve employees from the new tower as well as Central Park.

We expect to break ground in the first quarter of 2013 with completion in mid-2015"

Does anyone know what they're building on GT's campus along 10th street between State and Atlantic past the tennis complex and coliseum? They've fenced off a large area and have signs up similar to those around the tennis complex.

It is the new Engineered Biosystems building.
