It doesn't look exhaustive to me. There are LRT trains going to Saddletowne, but there is definitely no route 100 going to the airport shown during the whole day.

Yea, I thought it was pretty interesting. I can't speak for how comprehensive it is: It showed all of the buses in my neighbourhood, so that was good enough for me!

That is pretty impressive. It does leave one thing bugging me though.... Centre St buses seem to be missing, along with the northern hills buses, and the 3 south... O.o

It's interesting to compare that to Toronto's, which is a whole bunch of straight lines. Calgary's patterns are so twisty and turny.

In light of Imperial's decision to move to Quarry Park, here is the latest TransitCamp post on decentralization of employment and transit usage:

Not Calgary related but Edmonton goes P3 with a new extension to their LRT. Not sure what kind of impact this will have on the SE or NC lines for Calgary?

Also, here's an animation of the new line:

^I don't know how they think that the whole west to SE line will only cost $1.8B total.

^ That is just an error in the article. Millwoods to DT is 1.8 Billion. The whole SE-W line with Downtown Connector is 3.2 Billion.

A new thread in the Canada section regarding transit....thought some of the transit geeks might have good info for Calgary.

Whoever staked those piles did a fantastic job.

Wanted to know if any one had thoughts about the 301 route post-West LRT. The original plan once the LRT opened was to route the 301 to Mount Royal University and back through downtown to continue North. They've since amended the plan so the 301 loops through downtown and returns up Centre Street. It seems far more efficient for the articulating buses to service multiple areas of the city using the city centre as a pivot point. I have friends who live in Braeside and find the south LRT quite busy. Was thinking the 301 could potentially loop through MRU and continue to Glenmore, 14th South and provide service to those south communities (north of Fish Creek). I realize the South LRT services this area quite effectively, but providing some more transit options (potentially a bus lane on 14th street south) may help alleviate a strained South LRT. Any thoughts?

I'd think the most sensible approach would be to just keep mirroring the 3, at least as far as Heritage Station, to try to alleviate some of the pressure on a heavily utilized route. The new 306 will already be servicing MRU from Heritage, so the two actually fit together nicely.

All the communities directly south of the reservoir are unfortunately tough to service by transit. There's really no more efficient way of getting people downtown than feeder buses directly to the LRT. Any other route is going to take significantly more time, and would undoubtedly require the dreaded bus-to-bus transfer.

The 306 will serve MRU from Westbrook Mall, continuing onto Heritage Station via Rockyview Hospital (and Quarry Park in the future). A future BRT will connect areas like Braeside to downtown via MRU.

Now that IOL is moving to Quarry Park, has anyone seen any evidence that the City is going to accelerate or change transit plans to that area to better serve that area?? One can only hope...it is such a gong show trying to get to and from there....

My thought is that the City should modify the 306 that will run from Westbrook to Heritage (opening with the west LRT), so that it continues on to Quarry Park when it opens (the plan was to do it in the future anyway). I would also think that starting a 3XX route along 52nd street from Saddletown to Quarry Park (via 114 ave) would be a good idea as well.
