I don't believe we have the market or population for an Apple store, therefore we have a jump+ instead.

I know, wishful thinking. It'd just be so nice to be able to walk into the store when my iPhone craps the bed instead of having to ship it off.

I wonder how this is going to hurt other retailers of Apple products in the city (ie Futureshop)...

I've been in the one here in Fredericton a few times since it opened and it looks alot like an Apple store but smaller (seems very similar to the one in Portland, ME but a bit smaller).

Work is progressing at the Mapleton Centre....

I didn't take any pictures today, but construction is picking up, especially on the main building.

The east end of the main building will house both Bed, Bath & Beyond and PetSmart. These stores might be open by Christmas.

Work is slower on the west end of the building, but it is now clear that there will be two stores in this portion of the building. New paint has been applied around the entrances to these stores. One of the entrances is painted a non-descript brownish hue. The other entrance is painted an interesting shade of blue - dare I say Best Buy Blue.....

When they build them you can usually see the slanted roof right away because it's a part of the metal framing. (at least the one in St. John's was, you could see the roof parts before the building was even shelled in)

I hope it is a best buy tho. maybe it's just going up differently i dunno

Now there are some around the world that do not have the slanted roof, however I can't see why they wouldnt in this type of development

Yes, but the buildings in the Mapleton Centre do not have traditional steel frame construction and instead employ concrete forms. This could make a difference.

Also, the Best Buy in Dartmouth Crossing doesn't have the traditional large angled sign either.

I was at Champlain Place today. jump+ is now open.

The store was wall to wall people. It reminded me of the Apple Store in the Eaton Centre in Toronto, right down to the security guard at the door for crowd control.

Seriously, the store is identical to an Apple Store, except smaller. The layout and displays are the same, with a pseudo genius bar at the end and in store service. It's certainly an excellent addition for Champlain Place.

I was in the Montreal Apple Store on Friday and the Jump+ store in Champlain Mall this afternoon.

Montreal Apple Store was jam packed and there was no way to count all of the blue tshirts employees. I'm guessing 50 employees when I was there. 25 on each floor. They have an upstairs.

The Champlain Place Jump+ Store is an Apple Store in a miniature size way with a different name and different logo. IMO.

I went to the Moxies soft open tonight and got to sample their menu. All I can say is it's very awesome! Great service and great food. I wasn't a fan of this chain when I lived in Toronto, but this seems much better than I remembered. A really great addition to the Moncton restaurant scene!

Another of the tenants in the central portion of the Northwest Centre has decamped in advance of the future expansion of the new Target store next year.

Money Mart has moved into the smaller of the two satellite strips at the Northwest Centre, next to Battery House.
