That's not really true. L'Avenue will stand in that view beside the 1250 R.L. and even Tour des Canadiens will be partly visible.

Wow great shot RTA, river to downtown..you got everything! Even Epcor.
Great density as well, it will be great to see several prominent towers fill in even more over the next few years.

Thanks for the compliments, everyone! It was super windy up there, so the shots I got weren't as crisp as I was hoping for. Also didn't notice that red artifact in the bottom until now; I think that was some roof element illuminated by the airplane lights. But yeah, it was a great view of the city from up there; you can also see the scaffolding over the Legislature dome as it is being rehabilitated. More photos to come later.

Here's a stitched up photo panorama I did of that earlier photo of Ottawa/Gatineau (click for pixelated crappy sized).

If you squint hard enough, you can see the Adirondacks in New York state on the horizon.

Those Montreal aerials are pretty old and have been posted here already. That said, they're always fun to look at.

Having unfortunately never been to Montreal yet i have a question, why is it that the highrise development in downtown has not grown towards the waterfront? The images clearly show its growth back towards Mount Royal Park. It seems like the development seen in Toronto of the condo buildings around the waterfront would seem like a no brainer in Montreal. Again, having never been there i don't know if that is some sort of historical warehouse district or something similar.

The area surrounded in blue is Old Montreal so the chance of highrises getting built there are next to none. However, the area surrounded in red (and westward) used to be an industrial neighbourhood and it is slowly but surely transforming into a commercial and residential one.
