Aside from the podium, 10 York is a snoozer, I like how they can make a 800ft tower blend right in with buildings half it's size. But hey I can't complain when we've had a Foster and Gehry proposal within a week of each other.

Kinda upset this thing will block ICE from the Lake view of the skyline. But in the future, there will be so many tall towers here, taller than this.

I really like the sharpness of the podium. I wish it continued up the full height of the tower, but that would make for some very awkward shaped units presumably.

The better question to ask is if the MTCC project going to go forward without the casino?

I have a very close family friend at Oxford who told me last year they were in the process of designing a huge development at the convention centre and the area around it. I think even without the casino as part of it this proposal would have been released very soon.

I went down to RONA the other day to buy some cheap spandrel. They told me that there was a worldwide shortage due to the huge demand in Toronto. Is this true or were they just making excuses?

A Toronto proposal - Gibbroni is on-hand for a terrible joke! Particularly bad as the 10 York proposal doesn't even feature that much spandrel (nor do other recent proposals)... And also a complete misuse of the word but we will let that slide.

In relevant news I actually like this design of 10 York - far better than the previous iterations. I kind of doubt it will make it this cycle but we'll see.
