I honestly don't understand how Winnipeg has only one downtown full-service grocery store when Thunder Bay supports three, two of which are locally owned.

And that the only grocery store is Zellers is also odd. But if the space is becoming vacant, maybe a new grocery store will move in?

Perhaps a developer will buy the Bay building and entice a grocer for the main level and then the upper floors can be converted to condos, as has been done with the old Bay building in Victoria.
Don't know if they are still the agent of record but in 2010 Shindico was the agent trying to lease out the empty upper floors of the Bay downtown.

The Zeller's grocery was the downtown Bay grocery department re-branded.

There was also a smaller branded (Shop Easy /Tom Boy/ Food Fare?) grocery store in the Portage Place Promenade building were the UofM now has its downtown classes. I vaguely recall something about it not being profitable and closing up in the middle of the night.

if you view the page source, it says

<html>
<head>
<title>GLASSHOUSE - SKYLOFTS IN THE CITY - COMING TO CENTREPOINT</title>

so I guess this is the residential tower.

indeed it does indeed it does

i thought centrepointwinnipeg.com would have advertised all aspects of the development, residential, retail, and hotel. well i hope that this project is completely separate, and is a totally new residential being added to the development. 3 towers are better than 2.

Gem equities has the plans for the Yards of Fort Rouge project up for city approval at OCT 9/12 City Center community committee meeting.

You can see them at report # 16 on the following city web site. http://www.winnipeg.ca/CLKDMIS/ViewDoc.asp?DocId=12171&SectionId=&InitUrl=
