Few photos from back in May:

And from today:

South Frasier Perimeter Road was looking already pretty ready under the bridge with new paving on it.

Great pics!! I was wondering if they were going to light the bridge up at all but as of now there is nothing. you can drive over it at night and barely know theres even a bridge there. the whole thing is cloaked in darkness except the tiny bit lit by the street light.

Judging from the webcam pictures, they reopened the second westbound lane this morning at 7AM.

I know, we do a terrible job lighting our bridge structures. The Canada Line North Arm bridge disappears at night, as does the Pitt River and for the most part the Golden Ears.

In Japan and China, and even Europe, they know how to show off their bridges at night.

Westbound lanes on the new Port Mann bridge have been freshly striped, as have the approaches on the Surrey side. Lanes are currently configured as a 3+1 HOV setup, AKA the 4 lanes promised by December. Although there are only 3 eastbound lanes at the moment, the barriers have been specifically placed to leave room for the HOV lane, so all they have to do is paint a few stripes and POOF, they've got 4 lanes on the eastbound side.

There's no doubting that they will open all the westbound lanes ahead of schedule, even by a few months. I wouldn't be surprised if all 8 lanes opened by October. That'd mean tolling would commence 3 months sooner. However I'm sure the people stuck in gridlock at the 152 merge everyday would appreciate the doubled traffic capacity enough to shell out the $1.50.

The HOV lane will likely be blocked off for the time being. They probably have reasons to wait until December to open the HOV lanes.

From CKNW:
"More than 270 people who opened tolling accounts for the new Port Mann Bridge should expect letters in the mail this week warning their personal information--including credit cards--may have been compromised."

Looking at the construction pics, there were slats facing east and west at the tops of the towers - now they appear to have been covered over - looks like concrete panels.

Wow! 270 counts of theft, plus 270 counts of using an alias, at 1 month of prison per theft/false alias is...... Well the government/police will make it only '1 charge of theft' and time served with maybe 2 years probation,,, since the government and police consider all that data to be theirs and not the poor people who are now going to have to spend some dollars and time to change card numbers and check credit reports for the next year.
Up next, Government caught selling your digital medical records to the highest bidder, errr, medical research agency.

More than 270 people who opened tolling accounts for the new Port Mann Bridge should expect letters in the mail this week warning their personal information--including credit cards--may have been compromised.

Mike Proudfoot, CEO of the Transportation Investment Corporation says an employee provided false identification during the hiring process.

"What I can tell you at this time is the individual is not who he claimed to be when he was hired. It's a criminal matter and it has been referred to the RCMP."

The man was fired and arrested at the call center.

Proudfoot says the letters are precautionary and there's no evidence customer information was compromised.

news item updated edit: The 271 customers receiving letters created or updated accounts with the man over the phone.
Hmmmm, no evidence of compromised data, but lets arrest the perp anyways for giving us a false name along with whoever's social insurance number he used.

Wow, great progress; thanks for the pics!

Are there any pictures /webcams of the overpasses being built to connect east/westbound Mary Bypass directly to Highway 1... these would be the overpasses that go over United Boulevard.

I believe those are crimes, especially when you are hired in such a position of confidence in handling such data.

Also, I am 1 semester away from being GIS certified, and that data that is sold off to research agencies is used for countless aspects to make your life more healthy and safe, everything from where to build ambulance dispatch centers to how to prevent the spread of infectious diseases before they become a pandemic. It is this data that allows us to make connections between cause and effects. Similar data is also used in protecting the environment and where / how to implement traffic calming measures

Also, it is extremely difficult to purchase case by case data, instead you are often supplied with aggregated data at different resolutions.

If you want safer public environments and more efficient medical systems then you better accept the fact that your data will be used

All I can say is, good thing I have not registered yet. Although I do plant to do so while I can still get my complimentary bridge crossings.

This is why ordering over the internet is often safer than calling in and talking to a human. There are limited numbers of individuals who have access to that information and in many cases, credit card data is hashed and not visible, especially for PCI compliant sites.

Little green spec is a temporary laning sign for the Cape Horn interchange on the new bridge.

Really appears they're gearing up for switching the WB lanes sometime in the next week or two rather than wait until December.

Where will the extra 2 lanes be to bring the bridge to 10 lanes.

Only after they divert all traffic onto the new Port Mann and tear the old bridge down, will they have enough room to complete the last segments of the bridge to allow for 10 travel lanes.

If you look in the photo you can see the uncompleted easternmost lanes of the bridge between the painted lanes going onto the new bridge and the old bridge. Once the traffic's been moved from the old bridge onto the new one, they'll remove the old bridge's approach and complete the approach carrying the easternmost lanes of the new bridge.

BTW, the current line-striping to permit 8 lanes on 2/3 of the new PMB structure will likely be removed and re-striped as the final PMB cross-section permits 10-foot shoulders.

The existing shoulder is very minimal in order to shoe-horn in the existing 8-lane cross section during the interim until final bridge completion.
