Sure they did!

Great show. Not sold out. Best one I've seen in a while.

I watched CTV Winnipeg news. Officials at Ihop were contacted. They said there were no plans for a Winnipeg restaurant.

I have yet to see a shot like this one, despite the perfect location. So I decided to make one. This was taken last night, after my dinner at Rudy's.

There are more pictures as well, I just haven't put them up on Flickr yet.

That was my first Rush concert, and as much as I love the classics, them playing their 80s material was just brilliant! Hearing half of Power Windows (my favourite album) made me giggle a bit like a school girl for the rest of the show. Hell, even their new material sounds so badass! I hope they come back to do another tour here, but I'm worried that they won't since it wasn't a sold out show, and most of the upper decks were curtained off. I missed their last stop 4 years ago (wasn't too big into them at the time), and they didn't make a stop during their Time Machine tour the last two years, but I made it clear to myself that I must go when they announced Winnipeg as one of their stops for their tour. So I did, and was definitely NOT disappointed!

Anyways, back on topic...

24 Storeys at 9' foot ceilings (sourced by D Condo's Website) With the upper floors at 10' ceilings. So lets be generous and say 3 of the top floors are at 10' feet. This doesn't include the podium (which will have a larger ceiling, I am guessing).

That is

9' x 21 = 189'

+ 30' = 219'

Generously give 1' of space for floor to ceiling.

245' roughly for this tower!

That puts it at roughly the same height as Fort Garry Place I,II and III.

Excuse me, I need a napkin because I am drooling right now.

looks awesome, having that little path connect the development to the river walk is sweet, and 2 bedrooms for 269,9 aint bad

So that would put it in the same height range as ALT and Hertiage Landing, which are in the same range as the IG Tower, Radisson and the FG Towers...not bad..will be nice if they impact skyline shots too for those photographers

and it certainly looks nicer than Heritage that's for sure! Nice to see both Appartments (Hertiage) and Condos (d) will be making their way on one avenue

Hopefully presales go well. $270k for a two bedroom condo is fair market value for downtown Winnipeg

I think that puts the prices under sky waterfront and priced way under what they were asking for the cancelled dennistoun project. I'm thinking it'll work

I saw the Time Machine concert outdoors in Ottawa. Awesome.

Really good set list - the 80s stuff rocked. Much better set list than I've seen in the past.

I don't think they sold out at their previous appearance here, and they're playing Saskatoon, so hopefully the fact that they didn't sell out won't be a huge issue.

I agree, it should be very fair for new home buyers, and puts more people downtown. I'd love to invest in a downtown condo in Winnipeg...and I will, in due time.

For comparison, relative to dennistoun and sky:

Dennistoun: sq footage range - 795 sq ft - 1200 sq ft ranged $260k-$430k (though I recall the comparable double bedroom being in the mid $300k's, vs d condo's $270k)

sky: ~954 sq ft double bed is ~$300k with higher end units in the mid $500k+ range

so certainly comparable and reasonably priced

the amenities will be interesting to see, and I assume underground/heated parking will be included in the project
