Edmonton's skyline is consistently downplayed in this country (and even on this board). I don't know what it is, perhaps its the Calgary effect. I shit ye not I was trying to convince a dude at work the other day whose brother left to work in Edmonton that it was a big city of over a million people. He finally believed me, but I still don't think he believed me when I said it had a :pretty large skyline". I don't get people like that, what do they know about skylines and shit that I don't?

People who pay attention know about Edmonton. People who gauge the world based on what the media feed them don't. The truth is that Edmonton is a low profile city so they assume its small.

All the data clearly show that Edmonton is about the same size as both Calgary and Ottawa. It's also growing as fast as Calgary, which might surprise many people. Edmonton is the Houston of Alberta.

Those pictures that cold posted are from never-before-seen angles.

The last one is jaw dropping! I can only imagine what it will look like from the top of the building when it's finished.

isaidso: True about Edmonton. But it's much, much nicer than Houston... Which is a "Dump" IMO! I just wish Calgary and Edmonton had some of Houston's Skyscrapers!

I actually just went to Edmonton for my first time on Monday. I looooved the city. The public spaces are some of the nicest in the country in my opinion, especially the capitol grounds. The only negative aspect to me was how sparse the major buildings are, just so far apart.

The LRT subway is also quite impressive save for University Station. But yes, I was overall very impressed by the city and especially Galaxyland at WEM!Soooo much fun! Will be posting pics of my trip soon

It's too bad some forest fire up north is blowing smoke into the city.

^ I love Edmonton, hugely underrated city like Winnipeg, being in Calgary I see both those other cities downplayed a surprising amount, though I also see them get a lot more props than people think Calgaraians give as well

Hey really nice shots SurrealPlaces, MTLskyline and Corldsrx (amazing shots as usual)

This isn't my shot, but its one of the Peg's P&M towers overlooking new Disraeli Fwy bridge construction, courtesy of the Free Press

When I lived in Toronto, many people couldn't believe the following when I told them:
1. Edmonton is bigger than Halifax
2. Calgary and Edmonton are the "same" size
