i think that picture was a blue print for the original concept for the project.. as it stands i believe only one bldg is going to be constructed. Although i have a strong feeling a smaller 5 story office and retail bldg may be built on top of the parkade on the side closest to ellice. The bldg although not very tall would add more density to the area and still be quite imposing from some views.

exciting times in peg i guess.. but with all these new restaurants and businesses popping up is there a strong chance that many of our older restaurant and businesses may suffer, and even fold in the process. Is our market big enough to support this type of growth. People are still rushing to saskatchewan and alberta in droves. Although i know many who have gone and returned to peg and vice verca.

People aren't rushing in droves, not anymore. It might not be that Winnipeg is obtaining a net 60k people per year, but the population hasn't regressed...it has grown, and the city is still growing..even if people are still leaving. But people are also coming overall.

The entire reason new business come up is because the market grows in the first place; otherwise no potential opportunities would be warranted. So the market is large enough, if it can support it. Simple.

Do not underestimate a stable, multidisciplinary economy with national level amenities (NHL team anyone?) and a predictable growth curve. Predictable = certainty, which = less risk for potential business owners

Maybe we can fill up CityPlace and Portage Place if we sneak that line onto everything related to those two malls... especially CityPlace. Having my job in downtown for a month, I walk through that dead mall daily. At least Portage Place can keep a daytime crowd to an extent...

i go to some places downtown that r empty as hell at all hours of the day n night. Is this growth some kind of a ruse put on by our govt. Is all this growth contingent on centerport canada, chrm, and assinaboine park panning out.. What if they don't, what if they all flop and fail to attract as many visitors as they anticipate. What if centerpoint condos dont meet the required sales numbers they hope for. Am i being cynical or realistic. I feel real hope for this city i just hope were not all in over r heads. Growth is great but we need to create more higher paying jobs and attract big businesses to sustain it.

What would be in it for Statistics Canada?

I don't know how long it has been going on for, but Road redevelopment is well underway on Donald. I will try to snap pic's tonight. Anyone been to Rudy's yet at Hydro? I booked a reservation for tonight. Is it any good? Too bad that I can't follow that up with some "Tom Sawyer", et al.

City Place is dead because the owners of the building don't seem to want to run a mall. It's basically just a food court.

ive been there... honestly theres nothing like it in winnipeg the landscaping around the bldg is top notch,, if thats how the future landscaping iis like that than i see a bright future for the city

Was there before a Jets game in the spring. I really liked it.

For once, we won't have to walk on the highway shoulder to that section of Winnipeg...

Unfortrunately, they did'nt play Tom Sawyer tonight, but it was still a great show!

Much like the Westport Festival development, the extension of transit service has been in planning stages for over two years now. I remember being told back in 2010. The transit service is conditional on further development in the Red River Ex site including the Westport Festival and agriculture campus (now under construction).

Here is some exciting news regarding the larger of our two Universities.

The Dinosaur is also up at the Museum, I stopped by and took some pics and it is pretty cool looking. I will definitely be going to check out that exhibit.

And yes Rush played last night, I walked past the concert at around 9:30-10:00ish. Sounded good. Does anyone know if it was sold out?
