Remember that the Brazilian Steakhouse is opening up on Waterfront soon. I am really looking forward to that one.

lol +1.
Sounds like he was mad he got his food too fast. So if they would have just sat there and waited another 30 minutes, he would have been happy with his order I guess.

Has Danny's Whole Hog /Buck Pierce sports bar opened up yet in the old Hu's on Ellice Ave? I have had his mobile BBQ at a few events and have found it to be good.

Yes it has. I haven't gone myself, but most of the reviews I've read are not too good... I guess go try it for yourself, but the biggest complaint seems to be that they don't put ANYTHING out on the tables (no napkins, bbq sauce, ketchup, etc).

Lets hope they pick up their game a bit... Polo Park area needs a good BBQ place other than Montanas.

Speaking of BBQ we tried Woodys on Sunday night as it opened this past week at Pembina and Grant. The food was not bad, I tried the 1/2 babay backs and she had the Sloppy Woody pulled pork sandwich(now I know how there are some horrble jokes crossing minds here..please refrain lol) In terms of the decor it was horrible it looked like a community centre was hosting a BBQ night no atmosphere and a horrible bar in the corner that seemed tacked on. Will try it again but it will be take out this time.

The problem with Tony Roma's, and every other typical restaurant that offer ribs, is that they are cooked by being boiled for several hours. If you order them, they are then seared with sauce on the grill for 10 minutes to warm them back up. Mmmmm boiled meat!

The difference between this and a real BBQ/smokehouse restaurant is the ribs are slow cooked at low temperature for hours. This process will season the meat with flavour, and tenderize it.

I guess everyone has there own personal taste, but smoked ribs >>>> boiled ribs.

Looks like Fresh Cafe on Corydon finally closed down. Food was great when they first opened. Noticed a drop in food quality and service when I went in May.

Earl's is my favourite place in the city for ribs and has been for years. I'm almost certain that Earl's slow cooks their ribs. Anyone else ever try there?

I used to cook at Earls, and I can assure you, the ribs are boiled, just like everywhere else.

The slow cooking equipment is highly specialized and expensive, so only restaurants that serve that sort of menu (i.e. BBQ joints) will have them.

Wild Wing opening up in Winnipeg this fall. I'm not 100% sure, but I think it's in same strip mall as Five Guys on Regent.

I don't mind Tony Roma's ribs, but it's like comparing apples and oranges.

Tony Roma's = Slathered in sauce. That's really what you like that you're eating.
Smokehouse = The actual flavor of the meat and seasoning you're enjoying.

My next purchase is a smoker so I can slow cook my own meats over night.

ANOTHER Canadian restaurant chain is entering the Winnipeg market, and this one has its sights set on the downtown.

A spokewoman for Milestones Grill and Bar, a Vaughan, Ont.-based casual fine-dining chain with close to 50 restaurants in Canada, said Thursday the chain is about a week away from signing a leasing deal with a local landlord.

The spokeswoman wouldn't say who that is or where the restaurant will be located until the deal is signed.

"But we definitely have intentions of bringing Milestones Grill and Bar to downtown Winnipeg," she said, adding the outlet is expected to open in 18 to 24 months."

This might be the one that CentrePoint is signing on with, no? They did say they were close to signing a deal with a Canadian chain.

Most likely it is. I used to frequent Milestones when I lived in Vancouver, and yeah, its pretty much as described: a classy, high-end feeling chain (nice decor), ... sort of like Earls, but with a slightly different menu. I'm not a huge fan of Milestones personally (am looking forward to the Rockford Grill), but I dare not get too negative since this is a new option to the Winnipeg market, and people will certainly appreciate that. If its adding to the SHED; awesome!

If you actually read the article... which would take less time than you took posting a question and waiting for a response. You would see that their location isn't confirmed but is most likely (given the time frame and project scope) going to be a part of the Centerpoint project.

As for my comment you tried to compare that with... you posted a 20 minute video that you claimed contained "disgusting police brutality" which contained nothing of the sort. Also, I admitted that I had no intention to spend a good portion of my morning watching it to verify your claims. So I asked you to narrow down the portion of the video that was so "disgusting" to you.

There is a difference.

Link? Or is this from a visual sighting of a sign saying "coming soon..."

On that note:
Taco Del Mar, another very recent entrant to the Winnipeg Market, will now have two locations. Another Subway / Taco Del Mar combo is going into that small new retail strip at the corner of Kenaston and McGillvary, same parking lot as Sobeys. It sure will be nice to have a grab'n'go burrito option in the area.

You never said anything about shortening the video. I recall an — remark, much like your other condescending comments, about how you didn't feel like watching it, but you were going to comment about it anyway.

If I choose to post without reading the article, what is that to you? Why do you immediately have to jump all over everything I say with negativity? Did I accidentally kick your baby or something?

Unlike yourself, I am not looking for a fight. I came to a conclusion and posted it without having to look at the article. If you have a problem with that, then maybe post it with integrity rather than coming across as such an — all the time.

How hard is it to say, "Chris, the point you made was already in the article?"

Really. Is that below you to say? Grow up man.

Did it ever occur to you that the reason people post things on this forum is to have a discussion with people? So what if it takes longer? I posted because I was interested to hear what people had to say. And by that I mean; intelligent contribution.
