Promoter: Point Zéro/ Reliance Construction
27 floors
193 suites and 40 private residences on top.
Pre-construction and demolition work inside the existing structure has already started and completion is due late 2013.

Everything will be designed with Montréal and Québec in mind, from a year long permanent ice bar serving Quebec's wine,beers and spirits; Maple syrup flavored coffees, top Montréal's chefs in the restaurant, design of furniture, etc.

If you have an apartment like this, you probably have no shortage of females. Plus, Montreal is full of sleazy women who'll take a pack of smokes and depanneur wine as the perfect date

Point Zero? Isn't that the brand of jeans they used to sell in the Sears catalogue 15 years ago? What connection would there be to a hotel in Montreal?

Yes it's the same company.

They've been involved in real estate in Montreal for the past 12 years, having built several hundred housing units.

Wow - it's not often you see a clothing company dabble in real estate, but it's even stranger to see them use the exact same branding. I don't really think that el cheapo Point Zero clothing aligns well with this nice, luxury boutique building.

The Point Zero hotel appears to be a vertical addition to the existing Hôtel La Tour Centre Ville. That's why the upper and lower portions appear so disconnect.

Not crazy about that building. Interior is 🞵🞵🞵🞵, sure (or maybe that's just the attractive females they've strewn around the units) but I hate the top. The "Point Zero" name on top reminds me of a billboard. And a billboard on top of a luxury building? I find it very much detracts from the overall look.

And as for the overall look... I want to like it. But I don't know if I actually do.

To me, it's two separate buildings with a very odd Point Zero accordion on top.

I actually LOVE both buildings separately, and the upper half would look gorgeous as a skyscraper on its own - but, together, it doesn't work.

It reminds me, oddly, of a taller version of the type of towers St. John's council would approve in a height-restricted zone. It has that... cobbled together... look of a building that has to respect heritage requirements and fit in an above-ground parking garage.

I'm not a structural engineer... but I find it hard to believe you can double the height of a building, especially that cheap concrete structure they want to build on,if this goes through I ain't walking anywhere near there

What you see in the renders above is the Parkade component of the project. Like you said i can't wait to see the condo tower either. Should be about 22 storeys.

Nice. Looks exactly like a 50m taller version of a condo proposed for Bloor Street East.

I kind of wish the developer would opt for sandstone (like Scotia Plaza) on the podium. The brick could risk ending up a bit suburban looking.
